First BBVA-funded outreach event a great success

It was the first in a series of scientific lectures aimed at the general public in IBEC’s “Apropa’t a la Ciència” project, which has been made possible by funding from the Fundació Antigues Caixes Catalanes of the BBVA.

The audience were extremely appreciative of the participative lecture, which covered a history of robotics and robots in popular culture, as well as outlining IBEC’s current research in the field. They asked lots of questions and contributed ideas and comments throughout.

More such talks – which as well as robotics will cover nanotechnology (Rosa Letizia Zaffino, Juan Pablo Agusil) and tissue engineering (Melba Navarro, Miguel Angel Mateos, Oscar Castaño) – will take place at other Barcelona libraries and civic centres between now and December:
