The contract will be within the framework of the ERC project of i-NanoSwarms which aims at studying the collective behavior of active nanoparticles, their cooperative motion, guidance through chemotaxis, and their interactions with biological systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Synthesis, characterization, and functionalization of inorganic (e.g., mesoporous NPs) \/organic enzyme-functionalized (e.g., lipid-based, hydrogels) nanocarrier that are fully biocompatible and biodegradable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Study of functionalization and drug loading\/release capabilities of nanoparticles for the development of precision and personalized nanobots.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Characterization of nanoparticles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essential:<br>\u2022 BS in chemistry or similar.<br>\u2022 MSc in chemistry, nanotechnology or similar.<br>\u2022 High motivation for translational and multidisciplinary research.<br>\u2022 Experience with inorganic nanoparticle synthesis (at least one): metal NPs, silica NPs and\/or metal oxide NPs.<br>\u2022 Experience with organic nanoparticles (at least one): polymeric NPs, liposomes and\/or self-assembled NPs.<br>\u2022 Functionalization of NPs: Basic knowledge on surface modification and applied chemistry.<br>\u2022 Characterization of NPs: dynamic light scattering and zeta potential, spectroscopy (UV-Vis, FTIR, Raman, NMR).<br>\u2022 Basic knowledge of techniques in organic synthesis: RMN, FTIR, chromatography, ultra centrifugation, rotary evaporator.<br>\u2022 Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork, Proactivity, Commitment, Collegiality, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.<br>\u2022 High level of English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Advantageous:<br>\u2022 Experience in nanomotors or active particles.<br>\u2022 Demonstrable experience and expertise on wet chemical methods for the synthesis of nanoparticles.<br>\u2022 Experience in advance microscopy characterization (TEM, SEM, AFM)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We Offer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Number of available positions: 1<br>\u2022 Starting date: September 1st 2023<br>\u2022 Working conditions:<br>        &#8211;   Three-year full-time contract.<br>\u2022 Measures to reconcile work and family life (maternity and paternity leave, flexible schedule working hours, 23 working days of paid holidays, 9 leave days for personal matters, among others).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 IBEC ensures equality of access to professional development opportunities irrespective of employment status, length at IBEC or other factors.
