Transmesa per par\u00e0sits del g\u00e8nere <em>Leishmania<\/em> a trav\u00e9s de la picada del fleb\u00f2tom, un insecte similar al mosquit, les formes cut\u00e0nia i visceral de la malaltia s\u00f3n end\u00e8miques a Europa, amb el 80% dels casos cutanis concentrats a la Mediterr\u00e0nia Oriental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Els medicaments actuals per tractar aquesta malaltia enfronten desafiaments com resist\u00e8ncia, toxicitat i costos elevats. Per aix\u00f2, \u00e9s urgent identificar nous agents terap\u00e8utics amb enfocaments innovadors per abordar aquestes dificultats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En aquest context, un equip liderat pel grup de recerca de <a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/es\/nanomalaria\">Nanomal\u00e0ria<\/a> de l&#8217;IBEC i l&#8217;Institut de Salut Global de Barcelona (ISGlobal) ha explorat un enfocament innovador per tractar la leishmaniosi basat en les troballes recents en mal\u00e0ria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Surprenentment, YAT2150 va resultar ser molt efectiu tamb\u00e9 contra la leishmaniosi, situant-nos en una posici\u00f3 \u00fanica, ja que ambdues malalties s\u00f3n les principals causes de mortalitat per par\u00e0sits en humans<\/p>\n<cite>Xavier Fern\u00e0ndez Busquets<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3, publicada a la revista cient\u00edfica <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.asm.org\/doi\/full\/10.1128\/aac.01127-23\"><em>Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy<\/em><\/a>, se centra en l&#8217;acci\u00f3 <em>in vitro <\/em>del compost YAT2150, originalment dissenyat com un potent medicament contra la mal\u00e0ria. &#8220;En el marc d&#8217;un projecte anterior centrat a millorar l&#8217;efic\u00e0cia de f\u00e0rmacs coneguts contra la mal\u00e0ria mitjan\u00e7ant encapsulaci\u00f3, va sorgir la idea de provar el compost YAT2150. Sorprenentment, va resultar ser molt efectiu tamb\u00e9 contra la leishmaniosi, situant-nos en una posici\u00f3 \u00fanica, ja que ambdues malalties s\u00f3n les principals causes de mortalitat per par\u00e0sits en humans.&#8221;, explica Xavier Fern\u00e0ndez Busquets, l\u00edder de l&#8217;estudi i investigador principal d&#8217;IBEC-ISGlobal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Els resultats de l&#8217;estudi suggereixen que YAT2150 podria actuar inhibint l&#8217;agregaci\u00f3 de prote\u00efnes a les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules de <em>Leishmania<\/em>, el mateix mode d&#8217;acci\u00f3 que ja s&#8217;ha observat en el par\u00e0sit de la mal\u00e0ria. Aquesta capacitat d&#8217;actuar efica\u00e7ment contra ambd\u00f3s, <em>Plasmodium<\/em> i <em>Leishmania<\/em>, posiciona YAT2150 com un candidat prometedor per al tractament de coinfeccions d&#8217;ambd\u00f3s par\u00e0sits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actualment, l&#8217;equip treballa per avan\u00e7ar cap a la seg\u00fcent fase de la investigaci\u00f3, que implica provar el f\u00e0rmac en models de leishmaniosi en ratol\u00ed. Un pas crucial cap al desenvolupament d&#8217;un tractament innovador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>El poder de l&#8217;encapsulaci\u00f3<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El treball tamb\u00e9 aborda els efectes d&#8217;encapsular el f\u00e0rmac dins de liposomes. Aquesta estrat\u00e8gia no nom\u00e9s amplia la seva finestra terap\u00e8utica, potenciant la seva letalitat contra el par\u00e0sit i reduint la toxicitat per a la resta de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules, sin\u00f3 que tamb\u00e9 permet dirigir el f\u00e0rmac espec\u00edficament a les zones del cos d&#8217;inter\u00e8s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Hem donat amb alguns f\u00e0rmacs derivats del YAT2150 que mostren \u00edndexs de selectivitat per al par\u00e0sit de la mal\u00e0ria de 1.000, 2.000 o fins i tot 3.000.<\/p>\n<cite>Luc\u00eda Rom\u00e1n-\u00c1lamo<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>D&#8217;altra banda, un indicador clau per con\u00e8ixer l&#8217;especificitat d&#8217;acci\u00f3 d&#8217;un f\u00e0rmac \u00e9s l&#8217;\u00edndex de selectivitat: &#8220;Perqu\u00e8 un f\u00e0rmac sigui considerat per arribar a fases de desenvolupament i assajos cl\u00ednics, el seu \u00edndex de selectivitat ha de ser major a 100. En el nostre cas, hem donat amb alguns f\u00e0rmacs derivats del YAT2150 que mostren \u00edndexs de selectivitat per al par\u00e0sit de la mal\u00e0ria de 1.000, 2.000 o fins i tot 3.000.
