Aranzazu Villasante als laboratoris de l&#8217;IBEC.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>El neuroblastoma, un dels c\u00e0ncers pedi\u00e0trics m\u00e9s comuns, es classifica com un c\u00e0ncer del desenvolupament, ja que sorgeix abans del naixement, durant la formaci\u00f3 d&#8217;\u00f2rgans i teixits. S&#8217;origina a partir de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules canceroses que es desenvolupen en els neuroblastos, un tipus de teixit nervi\u00f3s immadur, i sol afectar principalment les gl\u00e0ndules suprarenals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una de les l\u00ednies de recerca del grup del Dr. Josep Samitier (<a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/es\/nanobioengineering\">Grup de Nanobioenginyeria<\/a> de l&#8217;IBEC) liderada per la Dra. Villasante, \u00e9s el desenvolupament de models <em>in vitro<\/em> de neuroblastoma que permeten replicar la seva caracter\u00edstica vasculatura per buscar nous biomarcadors i dissenyar ter\u00e0pies efectives contra aquest tipus de c\u00e0ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aix\u00f2 \u00e9s rellevant perqu\u00e8 una de les caracter\u00edstiques del neuroblastoma \u00e9s la seva elevada vascularitzaci\u00f3, que pot ser mediada per un proc\u00e9s anomenat transdiferenciaci\u00f3, on les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules canceroses es transformen en c\u00e8l\u00b7lules endotelials que formen els vasos sanguinis del tumor. Aquest proc\u00e9s s&#8217;ha associat amb la resist\u00e8ncia als tractaments i la recurr\u00e8ncia del c\u00e0ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p> Vam descobrir que, en modificar el substrat de la placa simulant la rigidesa de les art\u00e8ries i venes humanes, les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules comen\u00e7aven a formar la vasculatura alternativa caracter\u00edstica del neuroblastoma que busc\u00e0vem.<\/p>\n<cite>Dr. Aranzazu Villasante<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>La Dra. Villasante, investigadora s\u00e8nior del grup, \u00e9s l&#8217;autora principal dels \u00faltims dos estudis en aquesta l\u00ednia, publicats a les revistes cient\u00edfiques <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/s44164-023-00064-x\"><em>in vitro models<\/em><\/a> i <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/cancers16051060\"><em>cancers<\/em><\/a>, respectivament. Aquests treballs detallen com l&#8217;equip de recerca ha aconseguit reproduir el proc\u00e9s de transdiferenciaci\u00f3 de la vasculatura del neuroblastoma en models fabricats <em>in vitro<\/em>. Ho han fet en dos sistemes f\u00e0cilment reprodu\u00efbles: Un d&#8217;ells \u00e9s un model m\u00e9s simple, en 2D, utilitzat per investigar possibles dianes terap\u00e8utiques; mentre que l&#8217;altre \u00e9s un xip microflu\u00eddic, m\u00e9s complex, dissenyat per al cribratge de f\u00e0rmacs. A m\u00e9s, han identificat el biomarcador GB3 com una possible diana terap\u00e8utica per a futures nanoter\u00e0pies contra el neuroblastoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Quan poses c\u00e8l\u00b7lules de neuroblastoma en una placa de cultiu en 2D, no duen a terme el proc\u00e9s de transdiferenciaci\u00f3 com ho farien en condicions fisiol\u00f2giques. Tanmateix, descobrim que, en modificar el substrat de la placa simulant la rigidesa de les art\u00e8ries i venes humanes, les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules comen\u00e7aven a formar la vasculatura alternativa caracter\u00edstica del neuroblastoma que busc\u00e0vem.&#8221; Explica la Dra. Villasante, investigadora de l&#8217;IBEC, la Universitat de Barcelona i el CIBER-BBN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aquest model va servir als investigadors per confirmar que les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals expressaven el biomarcador GB3, un receptor cel\u00b7lular implicat en la formaci\u00f3 de vasos sanguinis, la met\u00e0stasi i la resist\u00e8ncia a f\u00e0rmacs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Vam decorar la superf\u00edcie de les nanopart\u00edcules amb una toxina que sabem que s&#8217;uneix a GB3 i vam observar que aquestes anaven directes a les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules de neuroblastoma.<\/p>\n<cite>Dr. Aranzazu Villasante<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Tal com assenyala la Dra.
