Es tracta d\u2019una eina que pot ajudar a agilitzar el desenvolupament de nous tractaments d\u2019immunoter\u00e0pia contra el c\u00e0ncer aix\u00ed com a seleccionar els m\u00e9s convenients per a cada persona. El treball s\u2019ha publicat a la revista <em>Nature Communications<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>MIRO ens permet recrear no nom\u00e9s el tumor, sin\u00f3 el seu entorn i la interacci\u00f3 que tenen amb les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules del sistema immunitari. Aquesta relaci\u00f3 \u00e9s vital per a l\u2019\u00e8xit dels tractaments basats en la immunoter\u00e0pia<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anne Labernadie<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>El dispositiu MIRO permet omplir un buit en la creaci\u00f3 de tractaments contra les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules canceroses. Molts desenvolupaments ofereixen resultats prometedors al laboratori, <em>in vitro<\/em> i en models de ratolins, per\u00f2 no funcionen tan b\u00e9 quan es traslladen als humans. <strong><em>\u201cMIRO ens permet recrear no nom\u00e9s el tumor, sin\u00f3 el seu entorn i la interacci\u00f3 que tenen amb les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules del sistema immunitari. Aquesta relaci\u00f3 \u00e9s vital per a l\u2019\u00e8xit dels tractaments basats en la immunoter\u00e0pia que, malgrat el seu potencial curatiu, actualment nom\u00e9s funcionen en entre el 20 i el 40% dels pacients\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, explica la Dra. Anna Labernadie, qui va dissenyar el sistema microflu\u00eddic durant la seva recerca postdoctoral a l\u2019IBEC i actualment lidera el laboratori de Comportament Cel\u00b7lular i Bioenginyeria de teixits al Centre de Recerca Pr\u00edncipe Felipe (CIPF) a Val\u00e8ncia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Els investigadors que han desenvolupat aquesta tecnologia ja l\u2019han provat amb mostres de c\u00e0ncer de mama conegudes com a HER2-positives. Barra d&#8217;escala: 2 mm.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Les proves realitzades han perm\u00e8s comprovar la import\u00e0ncia de l\u2019entorn que envolta els tumors de mama a l\u2019hora de protegir-lo del tractament m\u00e9s habitual en aquest tipus de c\u00e0ncer, l\u2019antic\u00f2s monoclonal trastuzumab. <strong><em>\u201cGr\u00e0cies a<\/em><\/strong> <strong>MIRO<em>, hem pogut rastrejar les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules immunit\u00e0ries, veure com perden velocitat, moviment, en acostar-se al tumor, el que fa que el tractament no funcioni. Es troben una barrera formada per l\u2019entorn tumoral i queden bloquejades\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, explica el Dr. Alexandre Calon, responsable del Laboratori de Recerca Translacional en microambient tumoral de l\u2019Institut de Recerca de l\u2019Hospital del Mar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Avan\u00e7ar cap a un tractament personalitzat<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El dispositiu MIRO, que ja ha estat provat amb altres tipus de tumor s\u00f2lids, com ara tumors de pulm\u00f3 o colon, est\u00e0 fabricat amb <strong>t\u00e8cniques de microfluidica<\/strong>. Aquestes t\u00e8cniques permeten manipular fluids i c\u00e8l\u00b7lules a una escala molt petita. MIRO inclou cultius de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules de diferents tipus, separats en compartiments per tal de dirigir i observar la seva evoluci\u00f3. Aquest model, el primer del seu tipus creat amb aquestes t\u00e8cniques, permet recrear i estudiar amb detall la interacci\u00f3 entre les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules canceroses, el seu teixit connectiu i les respostes immunes. <strong><em>\u201cAquest model ens permet provar directament els tractaments que es farien servir amb els pacients\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, explica el Dr. Xavier Trepat, professor d\u2019investigaci\u00f3 ICREA a l\u2019IBEC, on lidera el grup de <a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/es\/integrative\">Din\u00e0mica integrativa de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules i teixits<\/a>, y membre de la Universitat de Barcelona UB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Aquest model ens permet provar directament els tractaments que es farien servir amb els pacients<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Xavier Trepat<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>La capacitat del dispositiu per analitzar el funcionament de diferents tractaments, l\u2019aparici\u00f3 de possibles resist\u00e8ncies i, fins i tot, identificar nous biomarcadors de manera individualitzada per a cada pacient, representa un gran aven\u00e7 en el disseny i &nbsp;personalitzaci\u00f3 dels tractaments d\u2019immunoter\u00e0pia en oncologia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En aquest sentit, el Dr. Joan Albanell, cap del Servei d\u2019Oncologia M\u00e8dica de l\u2019Hospital del Mar i director del Programa de Recerca en C\u00e0ncer del seu institut de recerca, ha apuntat que <strong><em>\u201cMIRO \u00e9s un model precl\u00ednic innovador que pot ajudar a millorar la taxa d\u2019\u00e8xit i d\u2019efic\u00e0cia de noves estrat\u00e8gies amb immunoter\u00e0pia un cop les traslladem a assajos cl\u00ednics\u201d<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pel que fa a la feina futura, l\u2019IBEC, ICREA i l\u2019 Institut de Recerca de l\u2019Hospital del Mar ja han presentat una sol\u00b7licitud de patent conjunta per la tecnologia de MIRO. <strong><em>\u201cEl nostre objectiu es transferir aquesta tecnologia a la ind\u00fastria farmac\u00e8utica i hospitals per poder aplicar-la a pacients\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, explica la Dra.
