Es tracta d&#8217; un prestigi\u00f3s finan\u00e7ament que concedeix el Consell Europeu de Recerca per explorar el potencial comercial i social de projectes de recerca duts a terme en institucions europees. El projecte de Salmeron, FACTORINK, s&#8217;enfoca en el disseny de biotintes funcionals amb activitat biol\u00f2gica per a la impressi\u00f3 de teixits artificials. Es tracta d&#8217;una prestigiosa subvenci\u00f3 que concedeix el Consell Europeu de Recerca (ERC, per les seves sigles en angl\u00e8s) i t\u00e9 com a objectiu explorar el potencial comercial i social de projectes de recerca que estan o han estat finan\u00e7ats pr\u00e8viament per l&#8217;ERC. Els i les sol\u00b7licitants utilitzen aquest tipus de finan\u00e7ament per verificar la viabilitat de conceptes cient\u00edfics, explorar oportunitats de negoci o preparar sol\u00b7licituds de patents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>FACTORINK: Noves biotintes per a la impressi\u00f3 de teixits artificials<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El projecte de Manuel Salmeron, anomenat FACTORINK, se centra en la fabricaci\u00f3 de biotintes amb funcionalitat biol\u00f2gica per a la impressi\u00f3 de teixits <em>in vitro<\/em>. Les biotintes s\u00f3n materials basats en hidrogels que contenen c\u00e8l\u00b7lules vives i altres biomaterials, com prote\u00efnes. S&#8217;utilitzen en bioimpressi\u00f3 3D, per\u00f2 perqu\u00e8 aquesta t\u00e8cnica funcioni correctament, les biotintes han de ser biocompatibles i recrear un entorn que permeti a les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules sobreviure i comportar-se com ho farien en el cos hum\u00e0. Aix\u00f2 \u00e9s fonamental per fabricar models de teixits <em>in vitro<\/em> que resultin \u00fatils en recerca biom\u00e8dica i en el desenvolupament de f\u00e0rmacs. Per a aix\u00f2, les biotintes han d&#8217;imitar la matriu extracel\u00b7lular, oferint propietats mec\u00e0niques i senyals bioqu\u00edmics ben definits, com una rigidesa controlada i la pres\u00e8ncia de prote\u00efnes d&#8217;adhesi\u00f3 i factors de creixement. No obstant aix\u00f2, les biotintes comercials actuals s\u00f3n limitades, ja que no retenen efica\u00e7ment els factors de creixement, que es dispersen r\u00e0pidament despr\u00e9s de la impressi\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Aquest finan\u00e7ament \u00e9s una gran oportunitat que ens permetr\u00e0 continuar desenvolupant aquestes biotintes en aplicacions m\u00e9s sofisticades, incloent-hi models multicel\u00b7lulars que incorporen el sistema immunitari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manuel Salmeron<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>En aquest context, els investigadors de l&#8217;IBEC han dissenyat una nova classe de biotintes que incorporen prote\u00efnes de la matriu extracel\u00b7lular, cosa que conserva la seva funci\u00f3 biol\u00f2gica i els permet actuar com a dip\u00f2sit de factors de creixement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Hem demostrat el potencial d&#8217;aquesta tecnologia utilitzant models cel\u00b7lulars simples.&nbsp; Aquest finan\u00e7ament \u00e9s una gran oportunitat que ens permetr\u00e0 continuar desenvolupant aquestes biotintes en aplicacions m\u00e9s sofisticades, incloent-hi models multicel\u00b7lulars que incorporen el sistema immunitari. Els resultats permetran consolidar la tecnologia i obrir oportunitats de comercialitzaci\u00f3&#8221;, detalla Salmeron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amb el projecte FACTORINK, l&#8217;equip de l&#8217;IBEC busca desencadenar el potencial de les biotintes demostrant la seva capacitat per contenir models multif\u00e0sics que inclouen c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare, c\u00e8l\u00b7lules endotelials i el sistema immunitari. S&#8217;espera que les dades recopilades a trav\u00e9s d&#8217;aquest projecte ajudin a definir la ruta comercial dels productes, conduint a la creaci\u00f3 de noves propietats intel\u00b7lectuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>EVOaware: Entendre l&#8217;evoluci\u00f3 dels tumors per v\u00e8ncer el c\u00e0ncer<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El projecte EVOaware, liderat per Xavier Rovira, t\u00e9 com a objectiu desenvolupar una plataforma innovadora per abordar un dels principals reptes en el tractament del c\u00e0ncer, la resist\u00e8ncia a les ter\u00e0pies- des d&#8217;una perspectiva evolutiva dels tumors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En molts casos, els tumors s\u00f2lids acaben desenvolupant resist\u00e8ncia als tractaments, cosa que provoca que aquests deixin de ser efectius. Aquesta resist\u00e8ncia no \u00e9s aleat\u00f2ria: sorgeix de la complexa interacci\u00f3 entre diferents tipus de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules canceroses i el seu entorn, cosa que impulsa el tumor a adaptar-se i evolucionar. Les estrat\u00e8gies actuals de descobriment de f\u00e0rmacs no aconsegueixen abordar adequadament aquesta complexitat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Per fer front a aquest desafiament, EVOaware proposa una plataforma basada en tecnologies d&#8217;imatge avan\u00e7ada per a teixits capa\u00e7 d&#8217;anticipar com evolucionen els tumors i com podrien tornar-se resistents, tant a ter\u00e0pies ja conegudes com a tractaments experimentals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Estem molt il\u00b7lusionats amb aquest projecte.
