{"id":128537,"date":"2025-09-29T07:59:49","date_gmt":"2025-09-29T05:59:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/?p=128537"},"modified":"2025-12-01T13:29:43","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T12:29:43","slug":"predoctoral-researcher-at-the-biomedical-signal-processing-and-interpretation-biospin-research-group-project-mhealthsleep4u","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/ca\/predoctoral-researcher-at-the-biomedical-signal-processing-and-interpretation-biospin-research-group-project-mhealthsleep4u\/","title":{"rendered":"Predoctoral researcher at the Biomedical Signal Processing and Interpretation (BIOSPIN) Research Group (Project mHealthSleep4U)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Proyecto de Generaci\u00f3n de Conocimiento 2024 by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities<\/strong><strong><u><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Introduction to the vacant position:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/biomedsignal\/\">Biomedical Signal Processing and Interpretation (BIOSPIN) <\/a><\/strong>Group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Pre-doctoral Researcher to conduct her\/his predoctoral training on innovative multimodal signal processing and Artificial Intelligence algorithms to extract clinical indices and provide new digital biomarkers for sleep medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the project is to develop new algorithms and tools of Digital Health for non-invasive, home-based sleep apnea detection, multi-night monitoring and prediction of cardiovascular risk and other comorbidities,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>PhD project<\/strong> will be conducted <strong>in the framework<\/strong> <strong>of<\/strong> the project entitled: \u201cSmart mHealth systems for sleep apnea detection, monitoring and treatment: a multimodal approach for individuals with different health conditions\u201d (<strong>mHealthSleep4U<\/strong>)\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This fellowship is associated with the research project <em>Generaci\u00f3n de Conocimiento<\/em>, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Setting up of multimodal acquisition system based on smartphones, multisignal patches and wireless devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and development of algorithms for multimodal biomedical signals based on Personalized Models, Deep Learning and Explainable AI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications to respiratory diseases and sleep disorders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof-of-concept of smart health systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essential:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>BSc and MSc in biomedical engineering, engineering, physics or biomedicine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge on biomedical signal processing and data analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Master thesis in biomedical engineering or signal processing and interpretation will be a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Candidates should be ready to enter an official doctoral programme in December 2025 (under Spanish Law). By this time, they must have obtained a university degree and a master\u2019s degree; or must hold an official university qualification from a country of the European Higher Education Area with a minimum of 300 ECTS of official university studies, of which at least 60 are at master\u2019s level.
