The project focuses on the engineering of a\u00a0<strong>4D functional human spinal cord construct (hSCC)<\/strong>\u00a0by integrating advanced biomaterials, extracellular matrix (ECM)\u2013inspired bioinks, high-resolution bioprinting technologies, and human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)\u2013derived neural and vascular populations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contract will be developed within the ERC-CoG&nbsp;SPINECRAFT project, whose&nbsp;objective&nbsp;is to&nbsp;establish&nbsp;a next-generation, anatomically&nbsp;accurate&nbsp;human spinal cord model to investigate neural circuit formation, cell\u2013cell interactions, and mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, with a particular emphasis on&nbsp;<strong>Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Actively contribute to the generation of cellular components and the fabrication of anatomically and functionally relevant\u00a0<strong>4D human spinal cord constructs<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Differentiate\u00a0<strong>hiPSCs\u00a0into spinal cord\u2013relevant neural and vascular lineages<\/strong>, including neural progenitor cells, motor neurons, interneurons, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, microglia, and endothelial\/pericyte populations.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Participate in the\u00a0<strong>design, optimization, and development of ECM-derived and bioactive biomaterials and bioinks<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Perform\u00a0<strong>biochemical, mechanical, and structural characterization<\/strong>\u00a0of hydrogels and bioinks.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conduct\u00a0<strong>cell encapsulation experiments<\/strong>, cell viability and maturation assays, and molecular characterization using\u00a0<strong>immunocytochemistry, qPCR, and related techniques<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contribute to\u00a0<strong>high-precision droplet-based bioprinting<\/strong>\u00a0for spatially controlled cell placement within the construct.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Collaborate closely with team members on\u00a0<strong>advanced imaging (confocal, light-sheet), 3D reconstruction, proteomic and transcriptomic analyses<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Participate in\u00a0<strong>scientific dissemination<\/strong>, including presentations, progress reports, and preparation of peer-reviewed publications.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for candidates:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essential:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in\u00a0<strong>Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Neuroscience, Tissue Engineering<\/strong>, or a closely related field.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hands-on experience in\u00a0<strong>mammalian cell culture<\/strong>, preferably including stem cells.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Basic
