dynamically maturing\u00a0<strong>4D human spinal cord model<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contract will be within the framework of the&nbsp;<strong>ERC Consolidator Grant SPINECRAFT<\/strong>, whose objective is to engineer a physiologically relevant human spinal cord construct to study motor neuron circuitry, glia\u2013neuron interactions, neural network dynamics, and mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, with a particular focus on&nbsp;<strong>Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Functional validation of\u00a0bioprinted\u00a0human spinal cord constructs using advanced imaging, molecular, metabolic, and electrophysiological approaches.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advanced immunohistochemistry, confocal and light-sheet microscopy, and structural analysis of neural circuits and tissue organization.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assessment of neuronal activity and network dynamics, including calcium imaging, three-dimensional multi-electrode array (MEA) recordings, and quantitative network analysis.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Metabolic profiling and functional readouts associated with neural maturation and disease phenotypes.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Development and characterization of ALS patient-derived\u00a0hiPSC\u00a0models, including motor neurons, astrocytes, microglia, and mixed multicellular cultures.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Analysis of disease-related phenotypes such as protein aggregation, synaptic dysfunction, neuroinflammatory responses, and neurodegeneration.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Integration of multi-omic\u00a0datasets, including spatial transcriptomics and proteomics, in collaboration with specialized technological platforms.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Supervision of PhD students and contribution to mentoring and training activities within the group.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Leadership in manuscript preparation and active contribution to conference presentations, workshops, and scientific dissemination activities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for candidates:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essential:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PhD in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Neural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong experience with stem cell\u2013derived neural models and\/or primary neuronal or glial cultures.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proven\u00a0expertise\u00a0in immunohistochemistry, neural imaging techniques, or structural neurobiology.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Demonstrated analytical skills and experience in data processing and interpretation
