{"id":135414,"date":"2026-07-30T11:55:41","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T09:55:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/?p=135414"},"modified":"2026-07-30T11:55:43","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T09:55:43","slug":"predoctoral-researcher-at-the-biomedical-signal-processing-and-interpretation-biospin-research-group-project-mscreensleep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/ca\/predoctoral-researcher-at-the-biomedical-signal-processing-and-interpretation-biospin-research-group-project-mscreensleep\/","title":{"rendered":"Predoctoral researcher at the Biomedical Signal Processing and Interpretation (BIOSPIN) Research Group (Project mScreenSleep)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Introduction to the vacant position:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/research-groups\/biomedical-signal-processing-and-interpretation\/\">Biomedical Signal Processing and Interpretation (BIOSPIN) <\/a><\/strong>Group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Predoctoral Researcher to conduct her\/his predoctoral training on innovative mobile health (mHealth) solutions, multimodal signal processing, and digital biomarkers for accessible sleep monitoring in adult and pediatric populations with different health conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the project is to develop new mHealth systems integrating smartphones and wireless sensors with signal processing algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI) models for unobtrusive sleep apnea detection, multi-night monitoring, positional therapy validation, and prediction of cardiovascular risk and other comorbidities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>PhD project<\/strong> will be conducted <strong>in the framework<\/strong> <strong>of<\/strong> the project entitled: \u201cRevolutionizing early sleep apnea diagnosis: new mHealth solutions for accessible sleep monitoring in adult and children populations with different health conditions (<strong>mScreenSleep<\/strong>)\u201d, funded by Fundaci\u00f3 La Marat\u00f3 3Cat. This is a coordinated project in collaboration with the Sleep Unit at Vall d\u2019Hebron Hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Coordinated project La Marat\u00f3 2024 Malalties Respirat\u00f2ries, Fundaci\u00f3 La Marat\u00f3 3Cat<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Setting new mHealth acquisition systems based on smartphones and wireless sensors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and development of algorithms for multimodal biomedical signals analysis based on advanced signal processing and AI models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications to sleep apnea detection and monitoring in different populations, including adults, children, and spinal cord injury (SCI) patients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaboration and communication with the clinical team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof-of-concept of smart health systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essential:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>BSc and MSc in biomedical engineering, engineering, physics, biomedicine, or a related field.
