{"id":136854,"date":"2026-10-23T10:50:41","date_gmt":"2026-10-23T08:50:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/?p=136854"},"modified":"2026-10-23T10:50:45","modified_gmt":"2026-10-23T08:50:45","slug":"postdoctoral-researcher-at-the-at-the-pluripotency-for-organ-regeneration-research-group-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/ca\/postdoctoral-researcher-at-the-at-the-pluripotency-for-organ-regeneration-research-group-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Postdoctoral researcher at the at the Pluripotency for organ regeneration Research Group"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Introduction to the vacant position:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/research-groups\/pluripotency-for-organ-regeneration\/\"><strong>Pluripotency for organ regeneration<\/strong> Group<\/a> at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Junior Post-doctoral Researcher up to 3 years after PhD thesis defense, to conduct her\/his postdoctoral training on the development of advanced human organoid platforms based on hPSC for disease modelling and drug screening applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Application of engineering approaches to define controlled cell-to-cell and cell-to-ECM microenvironments to enhance organoid differentiation and reproducibility, including synthesis of biomimetic hydrogels, development of organ-on-chip approaches and 3D bioprinting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Development of scalable human organoid differentiation approaches from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) in 2D and 3D cell culture settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Development and implementation of quantitative and qualitative assays to monitor molecular and metabolic changes, and cell\/tissue functionality during organoid development in 2D and 3D cell culture settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Definition of standardized operational procedures (SOPs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Data Analysis &amp; Scientific Output: Independently analyse complex datasets, prepare high-impact scientific publications, and present research findings at international conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Mentorship &amp; Project Management: Supervise and mentor PhD and Master\u2019s students within the research group, while overseeing project milestones and preparing technical reports, as assigned by the PI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Requirements for candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Essential:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PhD in the field of biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, biomedicine or similar areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only candidates who are within 3 years of their PhD thesis defense, are eligible to this position.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proved knowledge on culture and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSC) (specifically on methodologies to derive hPSC-organoids will be a plus), confocal microscopy and quantitative image analysis, as well as molecular biology techniques.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proved experience in bioengineering technologies (i.e. microfabrication, biomaterials, organ-on-chip, bioprinting approaches).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work independently and manage complex projects under tight deadlines, experience mentoring junior researchers (MSc or PhD students), excellent scientific writing and presentation skills, teamwork, proactivity, and critical\/analytical thinking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High level of English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advantageous:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Application of quantitative imaging approaches in 2D and 3D organoid settings and live imaging setups.
