En un estudi previ amb ratolins \u2018humanitzats\u2019, van mostrar que la cloroquina encapsulada en nanoves\u00edcules cobertes amb anticossos (immunoliposomes) contra una prote\u00efna d&#8217;eritr\u00f2cits era m\u00e9s efica\u00e7 en eliminar el par\u00e0sit que la cloroquina lliure. No obstant aix\u00f2, l&#8217;OMS ha deixat de recomanar la cloroquina a causa de la pres\u00e8ncia global de par\u00e0sits resistents a la mateixa.<\/p>\n<p>En aquest estudi, els investigadors van aplicar una t\u00e8cnica similar amb nous antimal\u00e0rics que escapen als mecanismes de resist\u00e8ncia: una amiquinolina i un aminoalcohol. Primer, van validar un m\u00e8tode per carregar eficientment els liposomes amb aquests f\u00e0rmacs, i un antic\u00f2s que permet dirigir-los de manera espec\u00edfica als eritr\u00f2cits. Despr\u00e9s, van demostrar que aquests immunoliposomes, quan es subministren a ratolins infectats amb <em>Plasmodium yoelli<\/em> (que causa una malaltia similar a la dels humans), disminueixen de manera considerable la densitat de par\u00e0sits en la sang- prou per passar de mal\u00e0ria greu a mal\u00e0ria sense complicacions- a difer\u00e8ncia del f\u00e0rmac encapsulat en ves\u00edcules no cobertes per anticossos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHi ha una necessitat urgent d&#8217;augmentar el repertori de f\u00e0rmacs per tractar la mal\u00e0ria greu.
