Main tasks and responsibilities \/ The successful candidate will develop research involving:<\/p>\n

\u2022\tAssay of polymer-based nanovectors (nanocapsule+targeting element+drug) for the targeted delivery of antimalarial drugs to Plasmodium falciparum-infected cells.
\n\u2022\tUninfected mosquito feeding assays to determine the optimal sugar meal and nanocarrier dose for delivering fluorescently labelled nanocarriers to the mosquito<\/p>\n

Requirements for candidates:<\/p>\n

\u2022\tBSc and MSc in life sciences, Pharmacy, Biochemistry or Biotechnology desired.
\n\u2022\tTwo years\u2019 experience in (i) cell biology, including fluorescence microscopy proficiency, (ii) the in vitro culture of Plasmodium falciparum, and (iii) in vivo drug activity assays in mice, will be an essential asset.
\n\u2022\tAnimal Experimentation Certification.
\n\u2022\tComputer literacy and analytical skills.
\n\u2022\tHigh motivation and ability to be involved in an international multidisciplinary team.
\n\u2022\tCompetencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork, Proactivity, Commitment, Collegiality, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking
\n\u2022\tHigh level of English<\/p>\n

\no Full\/Part time 1-year contract with a possibility of an extension. Very competitive salary\/ Salary will be commensurate with academic level and experience.

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, IBEC is an interdisciplinary research center focused on Bioengineering and Nanomedicine based in Barcelona. IBEC is one of the top research institutions named as a Severo Ochoa Research Centre by Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (in charge of research and innovation policy in Spain), which recognizes excellence at the highest international level in terms of research, training, human resources, outreach and technology transfer.<\/p>\n
