Els intents anteriors involucraven recobertes cer\u00e0miques simple o dispersions de vidres bioactius en pol\u00edmers que augmenta la seva resist\u00e8ncia total, a costa d&#8217;una baixa interacci\u00f3 cel\u2022lular i una alta facilitat per col\u2022lapsar degut a la seva degradaci\u00f3 en fluid biol\u00f2gic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVam decidir doncs, invertir el disseny i aix\u00ed evitar els t\u00edpics problemes que es presentaven amb la falta de bioactivitat, la descontrolada degradaci\u00f3 i per tant la p\u00e8rdua de propietats mec\u00e0niques\u201d, explica Nad\u00e8ge. \u201cEs va utilitzar el coneixement publicat pr\u00e8viament dels diferents materials, els quals es van coordinar subordinant aix\u00ed les seves propietats inherents per un b\u00e9 com\u00fa, obtenint d\u2019aquesta manera un material amb funcionalitats jerarquitzades i amb un resultat sin\u00e8rgic\u201d. Un exemple similar seria una bicicleta, on cada component \u2013 els pneum\u00e0tics de cautx\u00fa, el quadre met\u00e0l\u2022lic, les llums, el lubricant de la cadena o el seient el\u00e0stic i flexible \u2013 s\u2019assemblen conjuntament en un \u00fanic ens la principal funci\u00f3 del qual \u00e9s la mobilitat r\u00e0pida i segura, amb una alta relaci\u00f3 cost-efici\u00e8ncia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl nucli de les fibres est\u00e0 format per \u00e0cid polil\u00e0ctic, un conegut pol\u00edmer biodegradable, que actua com a suport flexible. El recobriment bioactiu li d\u00f3na un aspecte similar a la tempura japonesa\u201d, diu Nad\u00e8ge, \u201cel que li d\u00f3na unes propietats superficials f\u00e0cilment modificables, i permet que la superf\u00edcie interaccioni eficientment amb els diferents ens biol\u00f2gics. A m\u00e9s a m\u00e9s, s\u2019ha previst que puguin promoure respostes cel\u2022lulars espec\u00edfiques controlades, \u00e9s a dir, que aporten a les c\u00e8l\u2022lules mare els est\u00edmuls qu\u00edmics, topogr\u00e0fics i mec\u00e0nics necessaris per provocar que es diferenci\u00efn en un tipus de c\u00e8l\u2022lula particular, ja sigui de l\u2019os, de l\u2019endoteli, del nervi&#8230; i aix\u00ed estimular la formaci\u00f3 de teixit nou. El resultat son fibres totalment biodegradables que al final seran reempla\u00e7ades pel teixit nou regenerat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>El nou protocol suposa una molt vers\u00e0til i prometedora alternativa, doncs es pot transferir a un altre tipus d\u2019estructures permetent la fabricaci\u00f3 de diferents arquitectures depenent de la seva aplicaci\u00f3.
