Aquestes c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tenen un paper cr\u00edtic en la migraci\u00f3 de les neurones del c\u00f2rtex cerebral i en la posterior formaci\u00f3 de les diferents capes el formen. Per a aix\u00f2, han de migrar de forma coordinada en tota l\u2019extensi\u00f3 de la capa I, el que implica una correcta senyalitzaci\u00f3 molecular que les gui\u00ef fins al seu dest\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>La migraci\u00f3 de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules Cajal-Retzius al seu torn est\u00e0 regulada per un sistema molecular d\u2019atracci\u00f3, el CXCL12\/CXCR4. Aquest sistema \u00e9s b\u00e0sic per l\u2019atracci\u00f3 de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules des dels seus punts d\u2019origen fins a la superf\u00edcie del c\u00f2rtex cerebral per\u00f2, per si sol, no els pot indicar quan han de deixar de migrar per aix\u00ed distribuir-se en tot el c\u00f2rtex.<\/p>\n<p>En el seu estudi, publicat avui a Nature Communications, es demostra per primera vegada l\u2019exist\u00e8ncia d\u2019una mol\u00e8cula senyal, la Semaforina 3E (Sema3E) que, al unir-se a Plexina D1 (el seu receptor espec\u00edfic que presenten les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules Cajal-Retzius) \u00e9s capa\u00e7 de modular l\u2019acci\u00f3 del sistema CXCL12\/CXCR4.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl sistema Sema3E\/PlexinaD1 \u00e9s el que indica a les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules Cajal-Retzius quan han de parar\u201d comenta el Dr. Jos\u00e9 Antonio del R\u00edo, investigador principal del grup de Neurobotecnologia Molecular i Cel\u00b7lular de l\u2019IBEC i catedr\u00e0tic del Departament de Biologia Cel\u00b7lular de la UB. \u201cAl sistema nervi\u00f3s en desenvolupament, la Sema3E pot exercir funcions d\u2019inhibici\u00f3 o d\u2019atracci\u00f3 segons el receptor que presenten les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules diana. En aquest cas, les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules Cajal-Retzius presenten \u00fanicament el receptor PlexinaD1 i al unir-se amb la mol\u00e8cula Sema 3E la migraci\u00f3 cel\u00b7lular es veu frenada\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Aquest treball constitueix la primera demostraci\u00f3 de les funcions d\u2019un sistema de senyalitzaci\u00f3 (Sema3E\/PlexinaD1), que ja es coneix que t\u00e9 implicacions molt importants en vascularitzaci\u00f3 i en c\u00e0ncer, durant el proc\u00e9s de migraci\u00f3 neuronal i la formaci\u00f3 del sistema nervi\u00f3s\u201d. Els investigadors han demostrat l\u2019acci\u00f3 del sistema Sema3E\/PlexinaD1 sobre les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules de Cajal-Retzius en embrions de ratol\u00ed, per\u00f2 encara falten m\u00e9s estudis per veure si es tracta d\u2019un proc\u00e9s com\u00fa en altres organismes, inclosos els humans.
