Es tracta d&#8217;una innovadora tecnologia de bioimpressi\u00f3 3D basada en llum, que fabrica els teixits a partir de cultius cel\u00b7lulars tridimensionals. En un futur aquesta tecnologia fins i tot es podria fer servir per produir \u00f2rgans al laboratori.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/brighter.jpg\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 600px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 600\/377;\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>El progr\u00e9s en recerca biom\u00e8dica ha perm\u00e8s fer front a malalties i realitzar grans avan\u00e7os m\u00e8dics en les darreres d\u00e8cades. Malauradament, fins ara una part de la recerca ha necessitat models animals per poder avan\u00e7ar. La Uni\u00f3 Europea, a trav\u00e9s de l&#8217;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eara.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Associaci\u00f3 Europea per a la Recerca Animal,<\/a> regula molt estrictament la investigaci\u00f3 amb animals, d&#8217;acord amb el principi de les 3R. \u00c9s a dir: 1) Reempla\u00e7ar animals per altres m\u00e8todes; 2) Reduir el nombre d&#8217;animals utilitzats, i 3) Refinar la metodologia per minimitzar el patiment animal.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En l\u00ednia amb les directrius europees, el <a href=\"https:\/\/brighterproject.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">projecte BRIGHTER<\/a> (Bioprinting by light-sheet lithography: engineering complex tissues with high resolution at high speed), coordinat per l&#8217;<a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Institut de Bioenginyeria de Catalunya (IBEC),<\/a> es va crear justament amb la idea de contribuir a reduir l&#8217;experimentaci\u00f3 animal mitjan\u00e7ant el desenvolupament de noves solucions en l&#8217;\u00e0mbit de la bioimpressi\u00f3 3D. Es tracta de la utilitzaci\u00f3 de la impressi\u00f3 3D amb fins biom\u00e8dics (coneguda com a enginyeria de teixits o medicina regenerativa), sistema que cada vegada \u00e9s m\u00e9s habitual en l&#8217;\u00e0mbit de les pr\u00f2tesis \u00f2ssies i dentals, i per a la producci\u00f3 de cart\u00edlag. A BRIGHTER els investigadors estan fabricant pell humana, un teixit molt complex.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Nova tecnologia BRIGHTER de bioimpressi\u00f3 3D\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>BRIGHTER \u00e9s un projecte finan\u00e7at per la Uni\u00f3 Europea i coordinat per un grup d&#8217;experts del laboratori <a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/biomsyscelleng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Sistemes Biomim\u00e8tics per a l&#8217;enginyeria cel\u00b7lular<\/em><\/a> de l&#8217;Institut de Bioenginyeria de Catalunya (IBEC), dirigit per la Dra. Elena Mart\u00ednez. <strong>El seu objectiu principal \u00e9s la creaci\u00f3 de models <em>in vitro<\/em> suficientment complexos i acurats per al seu \u00fas tant en la ind\u00fastria farmac\u00e8utica (proves de cosm\u00e8tics i f\u00e0rmacs), com en la recerca b\u00e0sica, amb la qual cosa es reduir\u00e0 l&#8217;experimentaci\u00f3 animal.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Per aconseguir-ho, els investigadors del projecte estan desenvolupant una nova tecnologia de bioimpressi\u00f3 3D basada en llum l\u00e0ser d&#8217;alta qualitat, amb qu\u00e8 pretenen superar alguns obstacles t\u00e8cnics que actualment limiten la fabricaci\u00f3 de teixits humans complexos.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><strong><em>\u201cEl nostre innovador sistema de bioimpressi\u00f3 3D no nom\u00e9s assoleix\u00a0 teixits m\u00e9s propers als reals, sin\u00f3 que tamb\u00e9 \u00e9s molt m\u00e9s r\u00e0pid que els sistemes actuals, un factor fonamental per garantir la viabilitat dels nous teixits\u201d<\/em><\/strong><em>, <\/em>explica la professora Elena Mart\u00ednez, coordinadora del projecte europeu<em>.<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un aspecte clau d&#8217;aquesta tecnologia s\u00f3n els hidrogels, materials que formen la base on creixeran les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules que formaran el nou teixit. Els hidrogels tenen propietats similars a les de l&#8217;entorn cel\u00b7lular, el que es coneix com a matriu extracel\u00b7lular. Aquesta matriu envolta les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules dins del cos i els proporciona nutrients, elasticitat i estabilitat. Un altre factor molt rellevant \u00e9s que tot el proc\u00e9s es pot fer de manera personalitzada, ja que per fabricar el nou teixit es poden fer servir c\u00e8l\u00b7lules de pacients.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Pell impresa en un laboratori\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Per posar a punt la nova tecnologia, els investigadors del BRIGHTER estan imprimint pell humana, un teixit amb una estructura tridimensional altament complexa, format per m\u00faltiples tipus cel\u00b7lulars i estructures com ara gl\u00e0ndules de suor i vellositats.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Per una banda, la pell fabricada amb aquesta nova tecnologia es podr\u00e0 fer servir com a substitut d&#8217;animals tant en la ind\u00fastria farmac\u00e8utica i cosm\u00e8tica, com en els laboratoris de recerca b\u00e0sica, i a m\u00e9s ser\u00e0 un sistema molt m\u00e9s fiable ja que est\u00e0 feta amb c\u00e8l\u00b7lules humanes. Per altra banda, pot ajudar a donar resposta a la demanda de pell en intervencions m\u00e8diques, per exemple, en cremats o persones que pateixen diferents malalties dermatol\u00f2giques.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#8217;avantatge d&#8217;aquesta nova tecnologia \u00e9s que permet modelar amb detall el teixit que s&#8217;est\u00e0 imprimint, cosa que, en el cas de la pell, \u00e9s crucial, ja que \u00e9s un teixit din\u00e0mic i compost per diverses capes amb diferents tipus cel\u00b7lulars i composici\u00f3 de matriu extracel\u00b7lular. A m\u00e9s, aquesta tecnologia permet generar vascularitzaci\u00f3 del teixit i incloure-hi ap\u00e8ndixs essencials, com ara les gl\u00e0ndules seb\u00e0cies (seu) i sudor\u00edpares (suor), i els fol\u00b7licles pilosos que generen els p\u00e8ls.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Per \u201cimprimir\u201d la pell i que adopti la seva estructura, forma i consist\u00e8ncia, els investigadors fan servir t\u00e8cniques avan\u00e7ades d&#8217;imatge que combinen la il\u00b7luminaci\u00f3 amb l\u00e0mines de llum i fotom\u00e0scares digitals d&#8217;alta resoluci\u00f3, per aix\u00ed poder fixar les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules als hidrogels. Per fer-ho, apliquen llum l\u00e0ser directament sobre la barreja de materials (hidrogel i c\u00e8l\u00b7lules), que tamb\u00e9 cont\u00e9 mol\u00e8cules que reaccionen a la llum. D&#8217;aquesta manera \u00e9s possible modelar el nou teixit i fabricar la seva estructura 3D \u201ca la carta\u201d, controlar-ne la rigidesa, la forma i les dimensions, i crear aix\u00ed teixits tridimensionals amb una geometria complexa.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><strong><em>\u201cEsperem poder imprimir una mostra de pell d&#8217;1 cm2 d&#8217;\u00e0rea i 1 mm de gruix en aproximadament 10 min i amb una viabilitat cel\u00b7lular de m\u00e9s del 95 %, millorant molt les condicions actuals de bioimpressi\u00f3\u201d,<\/em><\/strong> <\/em><\/strong>conclou la Dra.
