Encara que \u00e9s rar en humans, el fenomen s&#8217;ha detectat constantment en el fetge, el cervell i el tracte gastrointestinal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un equip liderat per la professora d\u2019investigaci\u00f3 ICREA\u202fPia\u202fCosma\u202fal Centre de Regulaci\u00f3 Gen\u00f2mica (CRG)\u202fde Barcelona i finan\u00e7at per la\u202fFundaci\u00f3\u202f\u201cla Caixa\u201d ha descobert que els esdeveniments de fusi\u00f3\u202fcel\u00b7lular tamb\u00e9 tenen lloc a la retina humana. El Grup de la professora ICREA Nuria Montserrat, Pluripot\u00e8ncia per a la Regeneraci\u00f3 d&#8217;Organs, tamb\u00e9 va participar en l&#8217;estudi amb la producci\u00f3 i caracteritzaci\u00f3 d&#8217;organoides de la retina humana.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#8217;equip va estudiar la possibilitat que els esdeveniments de fusi\u00f3 cel\u00b7lular resultessin en c\u00e8l\u00b7lules que es diferencien i es converteixen en neurones, cosa que mostraria el seu potencial per a la regeneraci\u00f3 de teixits. L&#8217;equip va fusionar la glia de\u202fM\u00fcller, c\u00e8l\u00b7lules que exerceixen un paper secundari per\u00f2 important en el manteniment de l&#8217;estructura i funci\u00f3 de la retina, amb c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare adultes derivades del teixit adip\u00f3s hum\u00e0 o de la medul\u00b7la \u00f2ssia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVam poder realitzar la fusi\u00f3 cel\u00b7lular in vitro, creant c\u00e8l\u00b7lules h\u00edbrides. \u00c9s important destacar que el proc\u00e9s d&#8217;hibridaci\u00f3 va ser m\u00e9s eficient en pres\u00e8ncia d&#8217;un senyal qu\u00edmic, normalment transm\u00e8s des de la retina en resposta al dany, la qual cosa va resultar en un augment del doble de les taxes d&#8217;hibridaci\u00f3. Els autors de l&#8217;estudi van descobrir que les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules h\u00edbrides es van empeltar amb \u00e8xit en el teixit i es van diferenciar en c\u00e8l\u00b7lules que s&#8217;assemblen molt a les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules ganglionars, un tipus de neurona essencial per a la visi\u00f3.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLes nostres troballes s\u00f3n importants perqu\u00e8 mostren que la glia de\u202fM\u00fcller\u202fa la retina humana t\u00e9 el potencial de regenerar neurones\u201d, afirma\u202fPia\u202fCosma. \u201cLes salamandres i els peixos poden reparar els danys causats a la retina gr\u00e0cies a la glia de\u202fM\u00fcller, ja que es diferencien en neurones que rescaten o reemplacen les neurones danyades. La glia de\u202fM\u00fcller\u202fde mam\u00edfers han perdut aquesta capacitat regenerativa, cosa que significa que el dany o la degradaci\u00f3 de la retina pot provocar una discapacitat visual per a tota la vida. Les nostres troballes ens acosten un pas m\u00e9s a la recuperaci\u00f3 d&#8217;aquesta capacitat\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Els autors adverteixen que queda molta feina per fer abans del desenvolupament de qualsevol tractament potencial. Un dels seg\u00fcents passos \u00e9s comprendre per qu\u00e8 les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules h\u00edbrides, amb quatre parells complets de cromosomes, no resulten en inestabilitat cromos\u00f2mica ni en desenvolupament de c\u00e0ncer. Els autors de l&#8217;estudi creuen que la retina pot tenir un mecanisme que regula la segregaci\u00f3 cromos\u00f2mica similar al fetge, que cont\u00e9 c\u00e8l\u00b7lules\u202ftetraploides\u202fque actuen com\u202freservori\u202fgen\u00e8tic, experimentant mitosi en resposta a l&#8217;estr\u00e8s i les lesions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#8217;estudi ha estat liderat pel Centre de Regulaci\u00f3 Gen\u00f2mica en col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 amb l&#8217;Institut de\u202fBioingenieria\u202fde Catalunya (IBEC) i el Centre d&#8217;Oftalmologia Barraquer.
