El projecte va ser finan\u00e7at amb prop de 2 milions d&#8217;euros durant 26 mesos i t\u00e9 com a objectiu desenvolupar un dispositiu de diagn\u00f2stic per seleccionar embrions basant-se en els seus perfils metab\u00f2lics i augmentar les taxes d&#8217;\u00e8xit de les t\u00e8cniques de fertilitzaci\u00f3 <em>in vitro<\/em>.<\/h4>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"http:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Asset-1_Logo-ATTRACT.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-92752 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/attract-eu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ATTRACT<\/a> \u00e9s un projecte de la UE H2020 que finan\u00e7a tecnologies innovadores procedents de la recerca fonamental i que proporcionen valor afegit a la societat. Aquesta iniciativa \u00fanica combina el finan\u00e7ament p\u00fablic de la Comissi\u00f3 Europea amb la col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 entre les ind\u00fastries i les organitzacions de recerca per fer que aquests avan\u00e7os tecnol\u00f2gics puguin arribar a la societat com a aplicacions tant per la ci\u00e8ncia com per al mercat.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durant la fase 1 d\u2019ATTRACT, es van finan\u00e7ar 170 projectes, incl\u00f2s el projecte <a href=\"https:\/\/phase1.attract-eu.com\/showroom\/project\/metabolic-profiling-of-in-vitro-fertilization-embryos-using-hyspectral-imaging-hysplant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HYSPLANT<\/a> de Samuel Ojosnegros, cap del grup <a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/research-groups\/bioengineering-in-reproductive-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bioenginyeria en Salut Reproductiva<\/a> a l&#8217;Institut de Bioenginyeria de Catalunya (IBEC), que va desenvolupar un dispositiu de prova de concepte per seleccionar embrions basant-se en els seus perfils metab\u00f2lics. Recentment, va tenir lloc la reuni\u00f3 d&#8217;inici per presentar els projectes de la fase 2 d\u2019ATTRACT, on es van seleccionar els 36 projectes m\u00e9s prometedors dels 170 de la fase 1 per continuar el seu desenvolupament i apropar-se a un producte comercial. D&#8217;aquests 36 projectes, 18 van ser inclosos en la tem\u00e0tica de R&amp;D&amp;I, i entre ells el HYLIGHT, coordinat per IBEC.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">El projecte HYLIGHT<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><p>El projecte HYLIGHT desenvolupar\u00e0 una tecnologia robusta i f\u00e0cil d&#8217;utilitzar per seleccionar, de manera no invasiva, els embrions que s\u00f3n competents per a la implantaci\u00f3 i el desenvolupament, augmentant la taxa d&#8217;\u00e8xit i reduint l&#8217;anomenat &#8220;temps a l&#8217;embar\u00e0s&#8221;.&nbsp;<\/p><p><\/p><cite><em>Samuel Ojosnegros, IBEC&nbsp;<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>HYLIGHT \u00e9s la continuaci\u00f3 natural del projecte HYSPLANT atorgat a la fase 1 d\u2019ATTRACT i avan\u00e7ar\u00e0 cap al desenvolupament d&#8217;un dispositiu optimitzat per al seu us en la cl\u00ednica. La l\u00f2gica del projecte consisteix a ajudar a resoldre un problema que afecta una de cada set parelles a Europa: problemes d&#8217;infertilitat. Recorren a t\u00e8cniques de fertilitzaci\u00f3 <em>in vitro<\/em> per superar aquestes dificultats i convertir-se en pares, un cam\u00ed sovint dur i infructu\u00f3s.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La fecundaci\u00f3 <em>in vitro<\/em> (FIV) \u00e9s un proc\u00e9s complex i amb m\u00faltiple etapes en el qual els ous extrets dels ovaris de dona s\u00f3n fertilitzats amb esperma en un entorn de laboratori. L&#8217;ou fecundat, ara un embri\u00f3, es transfereix a l&#8217;\u00fater femen\u00ed per cr\u00e9ixer i desenvolupar-se. Malgrat els aven\u00e7os t\u00e8cnics duts a terme en les \u00faltimes d\u00e8cades, la taxa d&#8217;\u00e8xit, \u00e9s a dir, el nombre inicial d&#8217;embrions transferits que condueixen a un naixement \u00e9s relativament baixa (30%), i els cicles repetits de la FIV impliquen una angoixa emocional i f\u00edsica significativa per a dones i parelles, i un alt cost econ\u00f2mic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-92755 size-full is-style-default\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"http:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Embryos-Press-release.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-92755 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><figcaption>Imatge d&#8217;un embri\u00f3 control (dos imatges de l\u2019esquerra) i un embri\u00f3 metab\u00f2licament estressat (dos imatges de la dreta).&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Aquest dispositiu de diagn\u00f2stic combina l&#8217;an\u00e0lisi hiperespectral amb la intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia artificial, i permetr\u00e0 classificar embrions basant-se en els seus perfils metab\u00f2lics, aprofitant l&#8217;autofluoresc\u00e8ncia natural de compostos cel\u00b7lulars clau, com el NADH o el FADH. L&#8217;avantatge d&#8217;aquest nou enfocament \u00e9s que els embrions es classifiquen de manera no invasiva, minimitzant els danys.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el projecte HYSPLANT, els investigadors van desenvolupar un dispositiu de prova de concepte, en col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 amb la DEXEUS, una cl\u00ednica pionera de la FIV a Barcelona. L&#8217;objectiu de HYLIGHT \u00e9s ara provar en profunditat aquest prototip de recerca i transformar-lo en un prototip cl\u00ednic. Per a aix\u00f2, el projecte actual uneix l&#8217;experi\u00e8ncia de M-Squared, una empresa de tecnologia fot\u00f2nica i qu\u00e0ntica, amb DEXEUS, que garantir\u00e0 que aquest prototip compleixi amb totes les rutines i demandes de la cl\u00ednica. L&#8217;IBEC, en el seu paper de coordinador, centralitzar\u00e0 el desenvolupament del dispositiu de diagn\u00f2stic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La condici\u00f3 per a ser un projecte ATTRACT de fase 2 \u00e9s culminar amb la creaci\u00f3 d&#8217;una spin-off que aporti els avan\u00e7os cient\u00edfics a la societat. En relaci\u00f3 amb aquest punt, una an\u00e0lisi minuciosa del mercat mostra un inter\u00e8s del capital de risc en el projecte i secunda fermament la incorporaci\u00f3 d&#8217;una spin-off per a la comercialitzaci\u00f3 d&#8217;aquesta nova tecnologia.
