Above all, our administration staff better deal with the internal demand and the conversations to be held in their daily communication, with the aim of achieving and efficient workflow in all working processes. Effective communication is a key interpersonal skill and by learning how we can improve our communication has many benefits.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>Leadership and team management<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshop focused for the Heads of Unit and Research groups about how to deal with the challenging situations derived from leading a team of people towards successful results. The content of the course include: fulfill your leadership role, build a productive and inspiring group culture, deal with conflicts constructively, delegate tasks more effectively, build and sustain the motivation of your group.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>Writing Style in English<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshop focused and designed for project managers and experienced researchers, aimed at improving style and effectiveness with the written word, with practical applications for research projects applications and scientific papers for journals.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>Conference Presentations Skills Training<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshop focused to improve competence and confidence in presenting in English at scientific conferences. This skills based workshop combines presentation planning with many opportunities to practice public speaking. This skills based workshop combines presentation planning with many opportunities to practice public speaking.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>Learning to write clearly<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshop focused to help participants improve their writing skills through awareness of the elements of clear writing. Participants will understand how they make their writing clearer and more effective by following a series of simple guidelines. The course has been designed for scientists who have some experience in science writing but want to take their skills to the next level.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>Becoming a Scientific Writer: Putting \u2018Why\u2019 before \u2018How\u2019<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshop focused to help publishing scientists develop a more impartial, analytical view of their own writing behavior and of their readers\u2019 perception of the finished product. Participants will learn to recognise how basic human psychology can interfere with the transmission of their scientific message through their articles &#8211; and also how to use those same psychological processes to promote effective transmission of that message.\u00a0 \u00a0This workshop takes an important qualitative step beyond \u2018HOW to do scientific writing\u2019, by prompting publishing scientists to ask \u2018WHY do I write it like this?\u2019 It will raise scientists\u2019 awareness of what\u2019s going on in their own minds as they write a scientific manuscript, and improve their ability to understand and connect with their readers\u2019 minds. It will get them thinking in a more practical way about the parts of a paper and their purposes, and the dynamics of the writing process \u2013 and will link these back to the writer\u2019s and reader\u2019s thought processes, moods and objectives.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>Identifying and valuing your skills to promote your career<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshop focused having insight on the skills and competences that they have developed as a PhD holder (or in the process), and how these can help them succeed in their career development, in or outside academia. Participants will also be able to share their experiences and questions, and a large number of practical exercises and case studies will be proposed to help them identify their skills and value them.\u00a0This workshop will be the occasion to work on the participants experiences and share their questions. A large number of practical exercises and case studies are designed to help participants identify their skills and value them.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>Diversity and Cross-Cultural Awareness in Research<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshop focused to perform mobility stays in other countries as part of their career, or are welcoming in their labs at IBEC people from other cultures, cross-cultural fertilization in Research is a reality which requires an understanding of values, beliefs and expressions of people with different age, gender, race, religion, etc. The aim of this workshop is to raise awareness in our daily routine working in an international research environment which is full of interactions with people from different cultural backgrounds. This working environment implies different perceptions of reality involving stereotypes, unwitting preconceptions or gender bias. In this sense, what may be an effective way of working with people in one country may be ineffective or even counterproductive in another.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>Good practices in a multi-disciplinary lab<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshop focused at young scientists and students working at IBEC, either for short stays or for longer periods of time, regardless of their contracting institution (IBEC or other research centres or universities).The objective of this course is to acquire the good practices necessary in a multidisciplinary laboratory to ensure the highest quality of the results. The training method will be to follow the process of performing an experiment, from previous planning until the moment of leaving the benchtop. For this purpose, we will take into account relevant aspects such as dealing with the waste, keeping a clean and tidy space, or health and safety, keeping in mind that our spaces are shared by different researchers and technicians from different fields.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>Guidance for women in their research career<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshops focused to gender issues in research and innovation, the challenges facing women and how gender inequality can impact efficacy and research quality. The workshop include talks from female researchers and invited talks, describing the challenges facing women research careers and how to improve the representation of women. It will be discussed the most appropriate and beneficial actions that can be taken to address the gender imbalance and the strategies that could be adopted.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>English courses<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshops aimed at the entire IBEC community to help improve grammar and oral skills at different levels. Located at our site from October to the end of June of the following year. This workshop aims to improve overall English levels.<\/li>\n<li style=\"clear: both;\"><strong>Spanish courses<\/strong><br \/>\nWorkshops aimed at the entire IBEC community to help improve grammar and oral skills at different levels. Located at our site from October to the end of June of the following year.
