This Complementary Plan is co-funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Generalitat de Catalunya under the C17.I1 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> <strong>Introduction to vacant position:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Signaling and Cell Cycle Laboratory at IRB Barcelona is looking for an experienced researcher to work on the search for new therapies for the treatment of pediatric osteosarcoma, using high-throughput screening (HTS) technologies, and cell and animal models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contract will be within the framework of the \u201cSearch for new therapeutic options in metastatic osteosarcoma using patient derived tumor cell lines\u201d (OsteoMetTherapy) project prioritized by the IBEC under the \u201cPlan Complementario de Biotecnolog\u00eda aplicada a la Salud\u201d (biotechnology applied to health).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Plan Complementario is co-financed by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovaci\u00f3n and the Generalitat de Catalunya, with funds from the European Union NextGenerationEU (PRTR-C17.I1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> <strong>The successful candidate will develop research involving:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicant will carry out the following research:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Generation and characterization of new cellular models<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Genetic manipulation of cells using both virus and CRISPR-Cas9 technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design, optimization and validation of HTS assays<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implementation of viability and cell death assays, as well as other cellular assays<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The selected candidate will be at the Signaling and Cell Cycle laboratory at IRB Barcelona. Occasionally, he\/she will have to go to the Sant Joan de D\u00e9u Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Requirements for candidates <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Essential<\/span>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Graduate in Health Sciences (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Medicine&#8230;), ideally with knowledge in molecular oncology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least 4 years of laboratory experience using cell and molecular biology techniques.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrable experience working with primary cell cultures and cell lines, virus infection and transfection techniques, cell proliferation and death assays.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organizational and problem-solving skills to work with minimal supervision<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High level of English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Advantageous<\/span>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A PhD in the field of cell and molecular biology techniques will be highly valued.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in genetic manipulation using CRISPR-Cas9 technology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous experience in Drug Discovery processes and\/or in experimentation with mice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We Offer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Number of available positions: 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starting date: Between 1st of April and the 16<sup>th<\/sup> of June 2023<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working conditions:&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full time 18-month contract.&nbsp;Attractive salary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Measures to reconcile work and family life (maternity and paternity leave, flexible schedule working hours, teleworking, 23 working days of paid holidays, 9 leave days for personal matters, among others).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stimulating, interdisciplinary research and high-quality international scientific environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IBEC ensures equality of access to professional development opportunities irrespective of employment status, length at IBEC or other factors.
