Se trata de una t\u00e9cnica m\u00e1s precisa y fiable que los m\u00e9todos tradicionales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El revolucionario m\u00e9todo, bautizado como \u201cMETAPHOR\u201d, genera im\u00e1genes 3D revelando los colores presentes en el embri\u00f3n de forma totalmente no invasiva. Ciertos compuestos naturalmente fluorescentes del metabolismo de los embriones son adem\u00e1s clave en procesos como la respiraci\u00f3n celular o el consumo de nutrientes, con lo cual METAPHOR permite observar de manera fiable el estado de salud del embri\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEsta nueva tecnolog\u00eda ayudar\u00e1 a aumentar la probabilidad de \u00e9xito en procesos de reproducci\u00f3n asistida, reduciendo el llamado \u201ctiempo hasta el embarazo\u201d, y el desgaste econ\u00f3mico y psicol\u00f3gico de las pacientes.\u201d, destaca Samuel Ojosnegros, investigador principal del IBEC y l\u00edder del estudio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Somos capaces de evaluar la p\u00e9rdida de calidad de los ovocitos asociada a la perdida de fertilidad con la edad. Esto representar\u00eda un gran avance en la gesti\u00f3n de donaciones y preservaci\u00f3n de fertilidad.<\/p>\n<cite>Anna Seriola<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>El trabajo, publicado en la prestigiosa revista cient\u00edfica PNAS, describe c\u00f3mo, en estudios con ratones, lograron duplicar la tasa de acierto al seleccionar embriones viables en comparaci\u00f3n con embri\u00f3logos que usan microscop\u00eda tradicional. Adem\u00e1s del an\u00e1lisis de embriones, el m\u00e9todo tiene una gran precisi\u00f3n para analizar el metabolismo de ovocitos, permitiendo seleccionar los m\u00e1s aptos para ser fecundados <em>in vitro<\/em>. Para ello, compararon ovocitos de hembras j\u00f3venes y de edad avanzada, ya que se sabe que la edad es crucial para su viabilidad. El sistema METAPHOR discrimin\u00f3 entre ovocitos j\u00f3venes o no con un 96% de precisi\u00f3n y pudo predecir cuales se desarrollar\u00edan en embriones viables con m\u00e1s de un 80% de precisi\u00f3n, unos n\u00fameros sin precedentes en el campo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSomos capaces de evaluar la p\u00e9rdida de calidad de los ovocitos asociada a la perdida de fertilidad con la edad. Buscamos lo que se conoce como \u201cfirmas moleculares\u201d, caracter\u00edsticas de las c\u00e9lulas asociadas a esta p\u00e9rdida de fertilidad, como por ejemplo la distribuci\u00f3n de mitocondrias. A partir de esta informaci\u00f3n somos capaces de predecir qu\u00e9 ovocitos se pueden desarrollar y cu\u00e1les no. Para analizarlos hemos entrenado una herramienta de inteligencia artificial capaz de analizar y clasificar estas im\u00e1genes en cuesti\u00f3n de minutos\u201d, detalla Albert Parra, investigador en el grupo de Ojosnegros y primer autor del estudio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La potencia y seguridad de este nuevo m\u00e9todo lo posicionan como una herramienta revolucionaria para evaluar ovocitos y embriones en funci\u00f3n de su fisiolog\u00eda.
