{"id":135016,"date":"2026-07-15T13:06:18","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T11:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/?p=135016"},"modified":"2026-07-15T13:06:35","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T11:06:35","slug":"postdoctoral-researcher-at-the-at-the-biomimetic-systems-for-cell-engineering-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/es\/postdoctoral-researcher-at-the-at-the-biomimetic-systems-for-cell-engineering-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Postdoctoral researcher at the at the Biomimetic systems for cell engineering Group"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Introduction to the vacant position:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/research-groups\/biomimetic-systems-for-cell-engineering\/\">Biomimetic systems for cell engineering<\/a> Group is looking for a junior postdoctoral researcher to develop a project on the reconstruction of the cancer microenvironment in metastatic colorectal cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Development and implementation of models that mimic the cancer microenvironment in metastatic colorectal cancer using hydrogels, microfluidic technologies and 3D bioprinting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Desing and optimize biomaterials and bioinks to recreate cancer microenvironment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to the research agenda through literature review, identification of scientific challenges, experimental design, hypothesis generation, and implementation of innovative research strategies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to scientific dissemination through the preparation of peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, intellectual property generation, and participation in collaborative national and international research projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mentoring and\/or co-supervision of undergraduate, master&#8217;s, and\/or PhD students, including experimental design and practice, analysis of results, and dissemination of results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain detailed records of protocols, inventories, and experimental results (e.g., lab notebooks)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teamwork, collaboration, proactivity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adaptability and willingness to support team needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essential:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PhD in Biomedicine, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline, with a focus on biomaterials and biomimetic in vitro models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research experience in biomaterials, hydrogel engineering, 3D bioprinting, biofabrication and microfluidic technologies for the development of cancer models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong background in the design, optimization, and comprehensive characterization of biomaterials, bioinks, and hydrogel-based platforms for cancer modeling, tissue engineering, and precision medicine applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practical expertise in the isolation, culture, and characterization of patient-derived circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and the integration of clinical samples into translational cancer research workflows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience working with multidisciplinary academic, clinical, and industrial partners to translate bioengineered cancer models into clinically relevant platforms for disease modeling, drug screening, and personalized oncology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time effectively.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of biosafety and chemical safety protocols.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent level of English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Competencies and Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We value not only technical expertise but also the demonstration of core competencies such as Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, and Critical and Analytical Thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We Offer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Number of available positions: 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starting date: 01-08-2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working conditions:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Full time <\/em>contract<em>.
