The position will involve physicochemical and pharmaceutical characterization of nanomotors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The technician will also support the daily operation of the laboratory, maintain selected instruments, train new users, and coordinate laboratory organization and safety procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Synthesis and formulation of organic and inorganic micro- and nanoparticles, including polymeric, silica-based, metallic, and other nanomaterial systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support researchers, collaborators and students in the preparation, optimization, and scale-up of nanoparticle formulations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pharmaceutical characterization of nanoformulations, including:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drug-loading and encapsulation-efficiency studies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drug-release and stability profiles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quantification of active compounds and formulation components.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development and implementation of analytical methods using HPLC and FPLC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physicochemical characterization of nanoparticles using techniques such as DLS, zeta-potential analysis, UV\u2013Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, and related analytical methods.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparation of samples for electron microscopy and support with SEM and TEM characterization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Performance or coordination of complementary characterization techniques, such as rheology, when required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and routine quality control of analytical and characterization equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsibility for selected laboratory instruments according to the candidate\u2019s technical expertise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparation and maintenance of standard operating procedures, equipment records, protocols, inventories, and experimental documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organization of laboratory spaces and coordination of reagent, consumable, and equipment orders with other technicians and the Group Leader.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management of equipment reservation calendars and shared laboratory resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training of new group members in laboratory procedures, equipment operation, good laboratory practices, and safety regulations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordination of the onboarding and checkout procedures for group members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management of the group\u2019s laboratory spaces, shared computers, and associated technical resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acting as a contact point between researchers and external suppliers, technical services, equipment-maintenance providers, and relevant IBEC departments, including IT, Core Facilities, Infrastructure and Facilities, Health and Safety, Finance, Administration, and Communications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting compliance with institutional health and safety requirements and contributing to a safe, well-organized, and efficient laboratory environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essential:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Materials Science, Biomedical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A relevant master\u2019s degree will be highly valued.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practical experience in the synthesis or formulation of organic or inorganic nanoparticles, such as polymeric nanoparticles, lipid-based formulations, silica nanoparticles, or metallic nanoparticles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in nanoparticle characterization using techniques such as DLS, zeta-potential analysis, UV\u2013Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, or related methods.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with chromatographic techniques, particularly HPLC.
