The successful candidate will contribute to the development and characterization of advanced 3D co-culture models of skeletal muscle and cardiac tissue. The project aims to establish patient-derived 3D tissue models to investigate disease mechanisms and support the evaluation of potential therapeutic compounds for muscular dystrophies. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of senior researchers within a dynamic and international research environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support the development, optimization, and characterization of 3D co-culture models using human and patient-derived cells.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform cell culture, tissue-engineering, molecular biology, imaging, and functional assays.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to the study of pathological mechanisms associated with muscular dystrophies using advanced in vitro models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist in compound testing and data collection for therapeutic validation studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essential:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in Biomedicine, Biomedical Engineering, Neurosciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong interest in skeletal muscle biology, neuromuscular disorders, tissue engineering, or disease modelling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and standard laboratory techniques.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work carefully, independently, and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new experimental techniques.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong competencies in communication, teamwork, commitment, proactivity, integrity, and critical and analytical thinking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fluent English, both spoken and written.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Advantageous:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Previous experience with 3D cell culture, hydrogels, tissue engineering, or organoid models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic knowledge of skeletal muscle biology, muscular dystrophies, fibrosis, or cardiac biology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with immunostaining, confocal microscopy, image analysis, molecular assays, or functional cellular assays.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with organ-on-chip technologies, microfluidics, biosensors, or drug-screening assays.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience handling and analyzing experimental datasets using R, Python, or other scientific software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We Offer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Number of available positions: 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starting date: October 16<sup>th<\/sup> 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working conditions:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Full-time 6 months contract.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Very competitive salary.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Measures to reconcile work and family life (parental leave, flexible schedule working hours, teleworking, 23 working days of paid holidays, 9 leave days for personal matters, among others).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>IBEC ensures equality of access to professional development opportunities irrespective of employment status, length at IBEC or other factors.
