Se observa como las c\u00e9lulas se contraen dejando un rastro de proyecciones en la base del sustrato.<\/h6>\n<p>\u201cQuer\u00edamos entender este sistema de comunicaci\u00f3n, que es muy sofisticado, al m\u00e1ximo detalle posible. Aunque ya conoc\u00edamos los agentes implicados, hasta ahora no ten\u00edamos las herramientas para descifrar el lenguaje, es decir, su mecanismo de funcionamiento\u201d, comenta Samuel Ojosnegros, primer autor del estudio. Para estudiar los mensajes que se env\u00edan las c\u00e9lulas, en un esfuerzo conjunto entre institutos de Barcelona y de California, los autores han desarrollado una nueva t\u00e9cnica de microscopia que permite observar las se\u00f1ales de comunicaci\u00f3n en c\u00e9lulas vivas. Esta t\u00e9cnica es capaz de resolver a nivel subp\u00edxel la agregaci\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas, que se representa con una escala de colores, y permite registrar secuencias a tiempo real de c\u00f3mo una c\u00e9lula responde a un determinado est\u00edmulo a gran resoluci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Este sistema de comunicaci\u00f3n lo utilizan las c\u00e9lulas como una especie de GPS interno para llegar a su destino en los \u00f3rganos durante el desarrollo embrionario, la regeneraci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas madre y durante las met\u00e1stasis de tumores invasivos.<\/p>\n<p>Una de las limitaciones actuales de la medicina regenerativa es la dificultad de asegurar que las c\u00e9lulas madre trasplantadas a un paciente lleguen y se implanten en el destino deseado. \u201cUna vez descrito este mecanismo, hemos dado el primer paso de cara a ser capaces de manipularlo para redirigir las c\u00e9lulas madre de forma mucho m\u00e1s eficiente, ya que se trata del sistema que ellas utilizan de manera natural\u201d, apunta el investigador del CMR[B].<\/p>\n<p><strong>Condensaci\u00f3n versus polimerizaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La comunicaci\u00f3n entre c\u00e9lulas es un proceso muy preciso basado en la existencia de prote\u00ednas receptoras de membrana que son capaces de captar se\u00f1ales externas del entorno y traducirlas a nivel interno. En el estudio, el equipo del CMR[B] se ha centrado en los receptores de membrana Eph y su ligando efrina.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGracias a nuestras t\u00e9cnicas de microscopia, hemos observado que el receptor Eph, en presencia de efrina, empieza a agregarse formando grandes estructuras. Esta agregaci\u00f3n no es homog\u00e9nea, sino que sigue dos patrones diferenciados, que hemos denominado polimerizaci\u00f3n (uni\u00f3n de mon\u00f3meros) y condensaci\u00f3n (uni\u00f3n de olig\u00f3meros).
