N\u00faria Montserrat, investigadora principal ICREA en el IBEC, y en el que tambi\u00e9n han colaborado el Hospital Cl\u00ednic de Barcelona, el Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas, la Universidad de Barcelona y el Salk Institute for Biological Studies en los EE.UU, permite generar conocimiento fundamental sobre c\u00f3mo se desarrolla este \u00f3rgano y, a su vez, facilita el dise\u00f1o de experimentos focalizados en el cribaje de compuestos terap\u00e9uticos destinados a la regeneraci\u00f3n renal.<\/p>\n<p>Para llevar a cabo este proceso, los investigadores han utilizado c\u00e9lulas madre pluripotentes, con las que han conseguido recapitular el desarrollo embrionario del ri\u00f1\u00f3n \u2013hasta el segundo trimestre de gestaci\u00f3n-, y han generado los minirri\u00f1ones simulando la dureza del microambiente embrionario mediante el uso de biomateriales.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_65624\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-65624\" style=\"width: 390px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-65624 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/minirrin\u0303o\u0301n-ibec.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/minirrin\u0303o\u0301n-ibec.png 470w, https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/minirrin\u0303o\u0301n-ibec-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/minirrin\u0303o\u0301n-ibec-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/minirrin\u0303o\u0301n-ibec-130x130.png 130w, https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/minirrin\u0303o\u0301n-ibec-45x45.png 45w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 400px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 400\/400;\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-65624\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Miniri\u00f1\u00f3n derivado a partir de c\u00e9lulas madre pluripotentes humanas<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cUno de los aspectos cruciales en la investigaci\u00f3n con organoides consiste en desarrollar una metodolog\u00eda que permita su maduraci\u00f3n en una placa de cultivo, y que estos se asemejen al \u00f3rgano adulto, por ello es esencial proveer a estos mini\u00f3rganos, entre otras cosas, de una red vascular, esencial para facilitar el intercambio de nutrientes y asegurar su funcionalidad\u201d, comenta N\u00faria Montserrat.<\/p>\n<p>Para superar este obst\u00e1culo, los investigadores han implantado los minirri\u00f1ones en la vasculatura embrionaria del pollo y han observado que, despu\u00e9s de pocos d\u00edas, los minirri\u00f1ones presentaban c\u00e9lulas endoteliales y evidencias estructurales que indicaban una mejor diferenciaci\u00f3n dentro de estas estructuras tridimensionales.<\/p>\n<p>Este tipo de abordaje representa una estrategia prometedora para el desarrollo de tejidos biofuncionales, que puedan ser utilizados tanto para la detecci\u00f3n de drogas como para el desarrollo de medicina personalizada. \u00abAnticipamos que este procedimiento que presentamos puede ser aplicado de inmediato en los laboratorios que trabajen en el modelado de enfermedades del ri\u00f1\u00f3n\u00bb, comenta Nuria Montserrat. \u201cNecesitamos entender c\u00f3mo se generan los tejidos para poder abordar cuestiones relacionadas con su disfunci\u00f3n\u201d, a\u00f1ade el Dr. Josep M.
