Main tasks and responsibilities \/ The successful candidate will develop research involving:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Development of a multiscale theoretical model of organic electronic biosensors covering from the nanometric organic layer-electrolyte interface up to the micrometric electrolyte reservoir and electrodes.
\n\u2022 Development of efficient finite element modelling routines to solve the Poisson-Nerst-Planck, or similar ones, to model organic bioelectronic sensors.
\n\u2022 Time and frequency response analysis of organic bioelectronic biosensors.<\/p>\n

Requirements for candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Essential<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Bachelor (BSc) and Master (MSc) on Physics\/Mathematics\/Engineering and related fields
\n\u2022 Background on theoretical physics or applied mathematics is a plus
\n\u2022 Programming skills: MATLAB\/ Python\/ C++ and COMSOL is a plus
\n\u2022 Self-critical, capacity to learn and bring knowledge
\n\u2022 Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork, Proactivity, Commitment, Colegiality, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking
\n\u2022 High level of English<\/p>\n

Mobility rule<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u2022 The researcher must not have resided or carried out his\/her main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of his\/her host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his\/her recruitment.
\n\u2022 Short stays, such as holidays, are not considered.
\n\u2022 Exceptions International Organisations: Eligible researcher must not have spent more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the date of selection in the same appointing international organisation.<\/p>\n

Admission Criteria for ESRs:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 ESR shall at the date of recruitment by the host organisation, be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and have not been awarded a doctoral degree<\/p>\n

\no Full time 3-year contract paid in accordance with the MSCA rules

\no Secondments (Spend a period(1-3months) during the PhD to work in another research group belonging to the consortium of BORGES)

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, IBEC is an interdisciplinary research center focused on Bioengineering and Nanomedicine based in Barcelona. IBEC is one of the top research institutions named as a Severo Ochoa Research Centre by Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (in charge of research and innovation policy in Spain), which recognizes excellence at the highest international level in terms of research, training, human resources, outreach and technology transfer.<\/p>\n
