
{"id":8314,"date":"2014-06-26T13:30:56","date_gmt":"2014-06-26T11:30:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/new\/molecular-mechanisms-that-regulate-the-migration-of-cajal-retzius-cells-during-brain-development-shown-for-the-first-time-3\/"},"modified":"2016-06-27T21:21:14","modified_gmt":"2016-06-27T19:21:14","slug":"molecular-mechanisms-that-regulate-the-migration-of-cajal-retzius-cells-during-brain-development-shown-for-the-first-time-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/es\/molecular-mechanisms-that-regulate-the-migration-of-cajal-retzius-cells-during-brain-development-shown-for-the-first-time-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Se demuestra por primera vez el mecanismo molecular que regula la migraci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas implicadas en el desarrollo cerebral"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La distribuci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas Cajal-Retzius en la corteza es fundamental ya que, en humanos, si hay alteraciones en su distribuci\u00f3n o bien no hay expresi\u00f3n de algunas de las mol\u00e9culas producidas por las c\u00e9lulas Cajal-Retzius se desarrolla Lisoencefalia de tipo I, una enfermedad en la que la corteza cerebral es lisa, sin circunvoluciones, lo que conlleva retraso mental y alteraciones en el control del movimiento.<\/p>\n<p>Las c\u00e9lulas Cajal-Retzius se generan en tres puntos diferentes del cerebro y, durante las etapas iniciales de su desarrollo, migran en paralelo en relaci\u00f3n con la superficie cerebral hasta cubrir toda la superficie de la corteza del cerebro, la denominada capa I. Estas c\u00e9lulas tienen un papel cr\u00edtico en la migraci\u00f3n de las neuronas de la corteza cerebral y en la posterior formaci\u00f3n de las diferentes capas que la forman. Para ello, deben migrar de forma coordinada en toda la extensi\u00f3n de la capa I, lo que implica una correcta se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n molecular que las gu\u00ede hasta su destino.<\/p>\n<p>La migraci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas Cajal-Retzius a su vez est\u00e1 regulada un el sistema molecular de atracci\u00f3n (el CXCL12\/CXCR4). Este sistema es b\u00e1sico para la atracci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas desde sus puntos de origen hacia la superficie de la corteza cerebral pero, por s\u00ed solo, no les puede indicar cuando deben dejar de migrar para as\u00ed distribuirse en toda la corteza.<\/p>\n<p>En su estudio, publicado hoy en Nature Communications, se demuestra por primera vez la existencia de una mol\u00e9cula se\u00f1al, la Semaforina 3E (Sema3E) que, al unirse a PlexinaD1 (su receptor espec\u00edfico que presentan las c\u00e9lulas Cajal-Retzius) es capaz de modular la acci\u00f3n del sistema CXCL12\/CXCR4.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\"> \u201cEl sistema Sema3E\/PlexinaD1 es el que indica a las c\u00e9lulas Cajal-Retzius cuando deben pararse\u201d comenta el Dr. Jos\u00e9 Antonio del R\u00edo, investigador principal del grupo de Neurobiotecnolog\u00eda Molecular y Celular del IBEC y catedr\u00e1tico del Departamento de Biolog\u00eda Celular de la UB. \u201cEn el sistema nervioso en desarrollo, la Sema3E puede ejercer funciones de inhibici\u00f3n o de atracci\u00f3n seg\u00fan el receptor que presenten las c\u00e9lulas diana. En este caso las c\u00e9lulas Cajal-Retzius presentan \u00fanicamente el receptor PlexinaD1 y al unirse con la mol\u00e9cula Sema3E la migraci\u00f3n celular se ve frenada.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Este trabajo constituye la primera demonstraci\u00f3n de las funciones de un sistema de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n (Sema3E\/plexinaD1), que ya se conoce que tiene implicaciones muy importantes en vascularizaci\u00f3n y en c\u00e1ncer, durante el proceso de migraci\u00f3n neuronal y la formaci\u00f3n del sistema nervioso. Los cient\u00edficos han demostrado la acci\u00f3n del sistema Sema3E\/PlexinaD1 sobre las c\u00e9lulas de Cajal-Retzius en embriones de rat\u00f3n, pero a\u00fan faltan m\u00e1s estudios para ver si se trata de un proceso com\u00fan en otros organismos, incluidos los humanos.
