Las prote\u00ednas &#8216;conmutables&#8217;, por control remoto, pueden activar o inhibir las funciones bioqu\u00edmicas espec\u00edficas en las c\u00e9lulas vivas, lo que permite a los investigadores configurar y probar una multitud de situaciones dentro de la c\u00e9lula &#8211; para activar o desactivar los procesos a un nivel mucho m\u00e1s profundo en el tejido y con mayor resoluci\u00f3n en 3D.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abLas biomol\u00e9culas fotoconmutables se utilizan para manipular con precisi\u00f3n los procesos bioqu\u00edmicos celulares pero, hasta ahora, nadie ha explorado un m\u00e9todo conocido como microscop\u00eda de excitaci\u00f3n de dos fotones &#8211; que ofrece una penetraci\u00f3n m\u00e1s profunda del tejido, con un volumen de excitaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o, y reduce la fototoxicidad y la fotodestrucci\u00f3n &#8211; en relaci\u00f3n con estos interruptores \u00ab, explica Pau Gorostiza, investigador principal del grupo de Nanosondas y Nanoconmutadores del IBEC y Profesor de Investigaci\u00f3n ICREA. \u00abAhora, los interruptores de prote\u00ednas existentes tambi\u00e9n se pueden utilizar con excitaci\u00f3n multi-fot\u00f3n con luz infrarroja cercana, proporcionando resoluci\u00f3n subcelular.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores han ajustado la respuesta a la luz de prote\u00ednas fotoconmutables existentes, para adaptarlas a la tecnolog\u00eda de estimulaci\u00f3n de dos fotones.
