Lo<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> s\u00edntomas var\u00edan desde dificultad para caminar hasta graves problemas neurol\u00f3gicos<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, y conduce<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">n<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">a una incapacitaci\u00f3n progresiva que <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">por desgracia <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">lleva a la silla de ruedas a muchos de los afectados.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Esta enfermedad es muy heterog\u00e9nea<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> entre pacientes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">edad de inicio, progresi\u00f3n, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ransmisi\u00f3n hereditaria<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">m\u00fasculos afectados<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> lo que hace especialmente complejo el desarrollo de tratamientos gen\u00e9ricos.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Actualmente, los f\u00e1rmacos contra la distrofia miot\u00f3nica se desarrollan en modelos animales como <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">la <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Drosoph<\/span><\/i><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">i<\/span><\/i><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">la<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, la mosca del vinagre, o en cultivos celulares en 2D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">M\u00e1s tarde <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">se prueban en ratones y<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">finalmente<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">en<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> pacientes. Utilizando estos enfoques se han desarrollado algunos f\u00e1rmacos que <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">desafortunadamente <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">no han podido llegar a las \u00faltimas fases de ensayos cl\u00ednicos porque no eran efectivos en pacientes, poniendo de <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">manifiesto la dificultad de extrapolar resultados obtenidos con animales a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> seres<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> humanos.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ahora, el equipo liderado por el <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Profesor de Investigador ICREA y jefe del grupo <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ibecbarcelona.eu\/biosensors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Biosensores para Bioingenier\u00eda<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> en el IBEC, Javier Ram\u00f3n, y<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> por el investigador postdoctoral de su equipo Juan<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> M. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Fern\u00e1ndez,<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">ha <\/span><strong>desarrollado por primera vez un modelo tridimensional para la distrofia miot\u00f3nica, utilizando t\u00e9cnicas de bioingenier\u00eda y c\u00e9lulas de paciente<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.
