IBEC\u2019s <\/span>Bioengineering Approaches to Understand, Model, and Modify Healthy and Pathological central nervous system CNS<\/span><\/i> Network <\/span>(NET-CNS<\/span><\/b>) brings together IBEC researchers to <\/span>explore cutting-edge developments in CNS <\/span><\/b>research \u2014 from fundamental studies to innovative therapeutic strategies. This initiative promotes <\/span>interdisciplinary efforts<\/span><\/b> to address CNS diseases and conditions and explore new therapeutic avenues.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This <\/span>second workshop on October 23<\/span><\/b>th <\/span><\/b>will focus on <\/span>emerging neurotechnologies to interface with the CNS, including innovative strategies to record, stimulate, and modulate neural activity for both fundamental research and therapeutic interventions<\/span><\/b>. The event will feature three <\/span>lectures<\/span><\/b> by leading experts:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

John Rogers<\/span><\/a> (Northwestern University, Chicago)<\/span> d<\/span>eveloping flexible and bio-integrated electronic devices to monitor health, interface with the nervous system, and advance medical therapies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Josep Maria Font Llagunes<\/span><\/a> (Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (IRIS-UPC), Barcelona) developing computational methods for the analysis and prediction of human movement, innovative robotic exoskeletons and wearable monitoring technology.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aureli Soria-Frisch<\/span><\/a> (Starlab,\u00a0Barcelona), Director of Neuroscience at Starlab, a deep tech company that develops wireless platforms and AI tools to find biomarkers to diagnose and treat brain disorders, with applications ranging from neurodevelopment to cognitive decline in aging.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
