Leading researchers of Olfaction and Chemical Sensing participated at the Summer School 2009. The speakers delivered lectures with a mixture of demonstrations and practical exercises. The participants of this edition were researchers from various European countries, China, Malaysia and the USA.
The multidisciplinary approach of the meeting allowed to cover key aspects of artificial olfaction technology and its biological basis. The sessions dealt specifically with chemical sensors, sampling systems, analytical instrumentation, robotics, biological chemoreception, human perception, computational neuroscience, information processing, and applications in real life.
ISOCS is made up of researchers from the academic environment and the industry worldwide. The Society promotes the research in olfaction and chemical sensing, and the exchange of information among the agents of this area. It organizes training courses, specialized symposiums, and scientific congresses. ISOCS also acts as a consultant for companies that are interested in the application of the technology.
