Introduction to the vacant position:
The Phase Transitions in health and disease Group is looking for a laboratory technician to develop massive scale projects tackling sequence-function relationship in intrinsically disordered and aggregation prone proteins. The contract will be within the framework of our ATLAS ALS La-Caixa, whose objective is to globally map mutations the cause ALS via different mechanisms.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Designing and building mutational libraries
- Performing massive scale selection experiments
- Analyzing sequencing data and extracting thermodynamic parameters
Requirements for candidates:
Essential:
- Degree and Master in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics
- Experience with multiplexed assays of variant effects
- Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
- Fluency in english
Advantageous:
- Experience with intrinsically disordered proteins
- Knowledge in prion/amyloid biology
