Introduction to the vacant position:
Reporting to the Health and Safety Coordinator at the People Management Unit, you will support all H&S functions, in compliance with IBEC standards and applicable regulations. You will manage risks and promote cultural change to reduce the probability of accidents and incidents and improve working conditions. You will bring added value to IBEC by promoting H&S culture across the organization.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Perform the risk assessments in all workplaces; foster the implementation of preventive measures and follow up on the preventive planning.
- Provide training for newcomers and specific courses in H&S.
- Safety visits or inspections at the workplace in order to check the H&S level of fulfilment in the workplaces.
- Support in audits and inspections.
- Promote a preventive culture in IBEC and give H&S advice.
- Participate in the coordination of medical check-up for IBEC staff.
- Research any accident or incident that may occur.
- Participate in the coordination of H&S activities.
- Collaborate to implement H&S promotion campaigns.
- Write H&S procedures, instructions, newsletters and registry documents.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations regarding prevention of occupational risks and their monitoring.
- Collaborate with the different IBEC Committees and with the People Management Unit.
- Attend the meetings of the Safety and Health Committee.
- Support the H&S Coordinator in any necessary tasks and functions.
Requirements for candidates:
Essential:
- Master’s in occupational risk Prevention, with the three specializations (Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics and Applied Psychosociology).
- Degree in Sciences (preferably Biology or Biotechnology).
- At least two years of experience as a Health and Safety Technician.
- High level of English.
- Minimum Elementary level of Catalan.
- User knowledge in Office 365.
Advantageous:
- Working experience in a similar sector: Research institute, Hospital, University, Company (pharma, biotechnology, food or beverage, beauty…) or in an external Prevention Service.
- Experience and knowledge about biological risk assessment.
- Experience in risk psychosocial study, assessment of the hygiene risk, ergonomic studies, emergency procedures, trainer in health and safety.
- Experience in working with occupational risk prevention databases.
- Experience working with ISO 45001, OHSAS.
- Experience in audits.
