The ICTD Group is looking for a research assistant to develop his/her PhD thesis project on the characterization of the mechanobiology of cells. The contract will be within the framework of ERC-AdG EpiFold, whose objective is the engineer the shape and mechanics of epithelial sheets.
Main tasks and responsibilities / The successful candidate will develop research involving:
- Traction Force Microscopy
- Fabrication and characterization of stiffness gradient polyacrylamide gels
- Single cell migration
Requirements for candidates:
Essential:
- Previous experience in multidisciplinary laboratories (biology and physics)
- Degree in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent
- Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking
- High level of English
Advantageous:
- Experience in cell culture and coding
