Main tasks and responsibilities / The successful candidate will develop research involving:
- Cell culture and maintenance of human and animal skeletal muscle cell lines.
- 3D bioprinting and 3D bioengineering of human and animal skeletal muscle cells.
- Electrical stimulation of muscle bio-actuators and characterization using optical microscopy.
- Post-processing and force characterization of bio-actuators with established techniques in the group.
- Biological characterization of bio-actuators, including immunostainings and confocal imaging.
- Active participation and support to other members of the bio-bots team in projects related to the same line of research.
- Collaboration with external partners and preparation of reports.
Requirements for candidates:
- Degree and/or Master on an experimental field, preferably related to Biology or Health-related Sciences.
- Proficiency in cell culture techniques (cell line maintenance)
- Biological characterization techniques, like optical microscopy (including confocal microscopy) and experience with immunostainings or PCR will be highly appreciated.
- Programming and analytical skills are a plus.
- Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
