Technology Transfer and Business Development Officer

The Technology Transfer and Business Development > unit at Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for an Officer in Technology Transfer and Business development.

The contract will be funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación within the Severo Ochoa framework.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Management of technology transfer projects and valorization programs
  • Documentation management
  • Technical and market research activities
  • Patent management.
  • Detection and promotion of business opportunities.
  • Detection, promotion assistance in proof-of-concept processes.
  • Promotion of the establishment of Spin-off and Start-ups.
  • Promotion of the establishment of license agreements.
  • Promotion on the establishment of research agreements with companies.

 

Requirements for candidates:

 

  • PhD with experience in research, in life sciences.
  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in technology transfer.
  • Knowledge about public and / or private finance funds for research activities.
  • Previous experience in Proof of Concept projects.
  • Advanced level of English.
  • Competences and skills: Teamwork, Proactivity, Problem-solving, Communication, Commitment, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.

 

Additional experience that will be also valuable:

 

  • Previous experience in one or more of the following:
    • a company in the health market.
    • research projects management with several partners.
    • drug and/or medical device development.
    • establishment of Spin-off and Start-ups.
    • establishment of license agreements.
    • directive positions in a company (e.g. CEO)
    • formal training in project management and/or business administration

 

We Offer:

 

  • Number of available positions: 1
  • Starting date: November 2021.
  • Working conditions:
    • Full time, fixed-term contract with possibilities for extension.
    • Salary will be commensurate with previous experience.
