Climate matters! IBEC community moves against climate change

In an action led by Communications Unit, IBEC community met today to contribute to fight climate change. During the action, participants inserted into an «Open box against climate change» their ideas and suggestions in order to improve the sustainabiluity of the Institute and help to reduce impact of the research on climate. More than hundred contributions were collected and all the attendees received a small olive tree, symbol of the IBEC and sustainability.

Rob Surgical, una spin off que se creó en el IBEC y la UPC, cierra una ronda de inversión de 5 millones con Scranton Enterprises

Rob Surgical, la spin off que se creó en el Instituto de Bioingeniería de Cataluña (IBEC) y en la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) en el 2012, acaba de cerrar una ronda de inversión de 5 millones de euros con el holding holandés Scranton Enterprises para encarar la fase final de su nuevo Sistema Bitrack y salir al mercado.

Rob Surgical, que se dedica al diseño y desarrollo de nuevos sistemas robóticos para la cirugía mínimamente invasiva, destinará esta inversión a obtener el marcado CE del nuevo Sistema Bitrack, que entrará en el mercado para mejorar la eficiencia de la robótica quirúrgica actual, con el objetivo de universalizar la cirugía de precisión.

El Sistema Bitrack será una alternativa al robot Da Vinci, que tiene el 98% de la cuota de mercado internacional, y mejorará la oferta actual.

We are looking for an Executive and Administrative Assistant who has extensive experience to provide executive support to the Director of the Institute. The Director of IBEC carries out multidisciplinary activities, both at the level of research and management of the Institute. It has an international agenda, relating to other Research Centers, Universities, Industry, Hospitals and Governing Bodies, both nationally and internationally. He leads different committees inside and outside IBEC. He has an intense travel schedule, participating as a speaker and as a member of several scientific assessment committees
