La fusión celular “despierta” el potencial regenerativo de la retina humana

La fusión de células retinianas humanas con células madre adultas podría ser una futura estrategia terapéutica para tratar el daño retiniano y la discapacidad visual, según los hallazgos de un nuevo estudio publicado en la revista eBioMedicine, con participación del Grupo de Nuria Montserrat en IBEC. Según el estudio, las células híbridas “despiertan” la capacidad regenerativa del tejido de la retina humana, un rasgo que se creía exclusivo de los vertebrados de sangre fría.
