Un estudio liderado por el IBEC demuestra que la laminina, una proteína presente en los tejidos mamarios, evita los efectos del endurecimiento, protegiendo a las células contra el crecimiento tumoral. El mecanismo se ha demostrado in vitro, pero se cree que también podría funcionar in vivo a partir de lo observado en muestras de pacientes.
