2 Postdocs at the Smart Nano-Bio-Devices Research Group

Introduction to the vacant position:

The Smart Nano-Bio-Devices Group is looking for an Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the development of enzyme-nanomotors for translational approaches within biomedicine. The contract will be within the framework of the ERC-Consolidator Grant (i-NanoSwarms), whose objective is to study the development of fully biocompatible and enzyme-powered nanoparticles and study their interactions with biomaterials and biofluids. This project has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement No 866348)

Main tasks and responsibilities / The successful candidate will develop research involving:

  • Development of fully biocompatible and biodegradable enzyme-functionalized nanoparticles
  • Rheological studies on the interaction of active nanoparticles with biofluids and biointerfaces
  • Use of nanoparticles as active drug delivery systems
  • Interaction and reporting with private foundations and companies

Requirements for candidates:

  • Degree and Master on any field on biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, biomedicine, nanotechnology.
  • Multidisciplinary qualifications (Physics/Engineering, Chem/Bio,etc.) and/or knowledge on nanoparticles, rheology, biointerfaces and biofluids.
  • Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
  • High level of English

  • 1 Full time 1-year contract.
