Introduction to the vacant position:
The Molecular Imaging for Precision Medicine group is looking for a postdoctoral researcher or research assistant to work on hyperpolarization-enhanced magnetic resonance methods and metabolomic studies by NMR.
The contract will be within the framework of the EU FET Open project “Benchtop NMR spectrometer for lab-on-a-chip” (https://blocproject.eu), whose objective is the development of non-invasive assays based on hyperpolarized magnetic resonance (MR) to study real-time metabolism on tissue engineered organ-on-a-chip systems.
Main tasks and responsibilities / The successful candidate will develop research involving:
- Prepare samples, acquire and process data for metabolomic studies
- Perform and optimise PHIP and DNP experiments
- Perform NMR and MRI experiments
- Co-supervise students
- Participate in lab meetings
- Represent the lab at national and international meetings
- Write and publish journal articles
Requirements for candidates:
Essential:
- MSc or PhD in physics, chemistry, biomedical engineering or similar areas
- Previous experience in NMR at any level
- Competencies and skills: Excellent communication and teamworking skills, proactivity, commitment, critical and analytical thinking
- High level of English
Advantageous:
- International experience
- Experience in MRI will be a plus
- Experience in scientific writing (papers)
- Multidisciplinary qualifications

- Full time contract for 9.5 months. Competitive salary/ Salary will be commensurate with academic level and experience.
