Introduction to the vacant position:
The Protein Phase Transitions in Health and Disease Research Group is looking for an Early Stage Researcher (on track to become a PhD student) to develop his/her PhD thesis project on the development of a small molecules able to prevent amyloid formation. The contract will be within the framework of a larger Deep Mutagenesis study funded by La Caixa.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Miniaturization of a selection assay in yeast
- Screening of small molecule impact against known amyloid forming sequences
- Design and selection of large mutational libraries
- Analyzing sequencing data
Requirements for candidates:
Essential:
- Experience in genetics/molecular biology
- Master’s in biotechnology or similar
- Computational skills ( R, Python)
- Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
- High level of English
