Research Assistant at the Research Group Biomimetic Systems for Cell Engineering

Introduction to the vacant position:

The Biomimetic Systems for Cell Engineering Group is looking for a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the development and optimization of a new fabrication platform based on 3D bioprinting.

The contract will be within the framework of the BRIGHTER project; a FET-OPEN project granted by the H2020 European Comission, whose objective is the fabrication of a new methodology for 3D biooprinting.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Provide technological solutions to the current project needs
  • Development of bioinks and bioprinting strategies
  • Cell culture on 3D scaffolds
  • Cell culture characterization

Requirements for candidates:

Essential:

  • MsC in Biomedicine or Biomedical Engineering with +2 years of experience.
  • Expert on design and development of bioinks
  • Expert on cell culture on 3D substrates and characterization
  • Competencies and skills: Initiative and proactivity, Commitment, Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
  • High level of English, both writing and speaking.

Advantageous:

  • Previous experience with 3D printing/bioprinting and rapid-prototyping techniques is desirable.
  • Previous experience in engineered tissue production and characterization
  • Previous experience in a research laboratory, knowledge of standard laboratory procedures and manipulation of standard equipment.

    • Full time. Salary will be commensurate with academic level and experience.
