The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) a cutting-edge research center based in Barcelona, is looking for a Project Manager in Research . We have an exciting full-time, development opportunity for a new Project Manager in Research to join our Projects Office in Barcelona.

His/her role will be to oversee and manage the research projects of the research lines assigned, liaising with other sites and institutions across Spain and Europe.

This position is supported by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness within the “Acciones de dinamización Europa Redes y Gestores” and/or Severo Ochoa Centres of Excellence Initiative.

El IBEC reivindica en las aulas el papel de la mujer en la ciencia

En el marco del ‘Día Internacional de la Mujer y la Niña en la Ciencia’ el Instituto de Bioingeniería de Cataluña (IBEC) ha llevado a sus investigadoras a las aulas para defender el papel de la mujer en la ciencia e incentivar vocaciones científicas entre las más pequeñas.

Hoy día 11 de febrero, el IBEC se ha sumado a la iniciativa ‘100tíficas’ que organiza la Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRi) conjuntamente con la Conselleria de Educación de la Generalitat para reivindicar el papel de la mujer en la ciencia.

HealthTech World Cancer Day 2020 “Smarter technologies to beat cancer!”

La Plataforma Española de Nanomedicina coordinada por el IBEC (NanoMed Spain) coorganiza la séptima edición del Health TECH World Cancer Day, una iniciativa mundial organizada como parte del Día Mundial del Cáncer. Este es el quinto año consecutivo que la plataforma acoge la conferencia, que se celebrará en la Sala Pau Viladiu de l’Hospital Duran i Reynals el próximo 3 de febrero. La inauguración irá a cargo de Josep Samitier (Coordinador Científico de NANOMED Spain y Director del Institut de Bioenginyeria de Catalunya) e Isabel Fabregat (Coordinadora del Programa de Mecanismos Moleculares y Terapia Experimental en Oncología e Investigadora en IDIBELL).

Nuevos avances en la mejora del diseño de fármacos contra la taupatía globular glial

José Antonio del Río, investigador principal en el Instiuto de Bioingeniería de Cataluña (IBEC) junto con el Dr. Isidre Ferrer del Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) han liderado un estudio en el que han descubierto que la patología que muestran los pacientes con taupatia globular glial es debida a la generación de depósitos proteicos dañinos para las neuronas y las células gliales.
