The new postdoctoral fellowships programme, Junior Leader “la Caixa”, is aimed at hiring excellent researchers—of any nationality—who wish to continue their research career in Spanish territory on any discipline. 1. MODALITIES 
1.1. Junior Leader “La Caixa” – Incoming fellowships (20 Postdoctoral fellowships)
For researchers of all nationalities that must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline.
1.2. Junior Leader “La Caixa” – Retaining fellowships (10 Postdoctoral fellowships)
For researchers of all nationalities that must have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline, to carry out research at any university or research center in Spain.
Researchers in the Postdoctoral Junior Leader “La Caixa” programme will have a 3-year contract, providing full social security coverage, which includes health and accident insurance, pension and unemployment benefits.

2. ELIGIBILITY

Highly qualified researchers of all nationalities willing to join a stimulating, interdisciplinary research and high-quality scientific environment are welcome to apply.

In order to get accepted, candidates interested in Incoming Programme must meet the following requirements:
o Experience: They should have earned their doctoral degree three to six years prior to the deadline for applications. The date of the doctoral thesis defense will be understood to be the date when the doctoral degree was obtained.
o Geographic mobility: Candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline. Short stays such as holidays will not be taken into account.
o Complete applications: Only candidates whose applications meet all the requirements of the call may be accepted.

In order to get accepted, candidates interested in Retaining Programme must meet the following requirements:
o Experience: They should have earned their doctoral degree three to six years prior to the deadline for applications. The date of the doctoral thesis defence will be understood to be the date when the doctoral degree was earned.
o Geographic mobility: Candidates must have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the recruitment date. Short stays such as holidays will not be taken into account.
o English proficiency level: Candidates must accredit a minimum English proficiency level equivalent to the B2.2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.o Complete applications: Only candidates whose applications meet all the requirements of the call may be accepted.

In the cases of interruption of research activity between 2 October 2011 and the deadline for applications to this call (2 October 2017), the period in which the doctoral degree must have been obtained may be extended by the number of duly justified months, to be counted from the months immediately prior to 2 October 2011 up to a maximum of one year.

3. APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS:

The Selection process will be managed and executed by la Caixa.From 10th July 2017 until 02nd October 2017, an online application form will be available through “la Caixa” fellowship application website.
No project or supplementary documentation may be submitted after the deadlines established in the Application for Fellowship Rules.
