Postdoctoral Researcher at the Biomedical Signal Processing and Interpretation (BIOSPIN) Research Group – GreenELECTRO Project

Introduction to the vacant position:

The  Biomedical Signal Processing and Interpretation Group (BIOSPIN) at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher on the development of algorithms for ECG signal analysis and validation of novel biodegradable ECG electrodes. The contract will be within the framework of the “Green Electrodes for Sustainable Electrophysiology” (GreenELECTRO) project, funded by the Agència de Gestió d’Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca (AGAUR) de la Generalitat de Catalunya.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design and development of algorithms for ECG analysis from novel biodegradable electrodes and classical sensors.
  • Data acquisition of ECG signals for electrical characterization of the novel electrodes.
  • Creating a Database of ECG recordings.
  • Comparison of different electrodes for cardiac signals.
  • Validation of ECG eco-sustainable electrodes
  • Proposal of multimodal physiological biomarkers and validation for health monitoring
  • Proof-of-concept with the biodegradable ECG electrodes.

Requirements for candidates:

  • Degree on any field of Engineering and PhD on Biomedical Engineering.
  • Expertise in protocols for comparison of different sensors and wearables in cardiac signals.
  • Expertise in laboratories for signal acquisition of respiratory and cardiac signals.
  • Knowledge on data analysis and biomedical signal processing.
  • Experience in collaboration with hospitals in projects for clinical applications
  • Experience in Postdoctoral positions
  • Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
  • High level of English
