Following the success of the first Thematic Networks programme, IBEC is launching its second call to foster intramural collaboration across research groups.
The goal remains the same: to identify key areas with strong collaboration potential within IBEC groups, build a forum for discussing ideas, and develop joint projects. Each selected network will receive up to 25,000 € in funding to organise up to 4 workshops, a final retreat, and a small collaborative project.
Key changes in this call
- Up to 3 networks will be funded.
- Representatives must be senior researchers or post-docs (PIs and PhD students are not eligible).
- Networks from the 1st call may apply with a new or continuation proposal, without priority over new applicants.

Applications are open until 15 January 2027. Please check all participation rules and application instructions in the call document. Applications must be submitted using the application template and sent to strategicInitiatives@ibecbarcelona.eu.
A shared spreadsheet is available where anyone can add ideas for networks and sign up to show interest.
