Also on the agenda were keynote talks by three internationally recognized experts in the field of innovation and technology transfer: Krista Keränen, director for entrepreneurship and innovation at the Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Finland; Lita Nelsen, formerly Director of the Technology Licensing Office at MIT; and Nuria Oliver, winner of the European Digital Woman of the Year award in 2016. During the two days issues such as the social responsibility of science, the role of the Technology Transfer Offices and public-private dialogue in science and transfer were discussed.
The 100xCiencia meetings started in 2015 to a forum to bring together the SO and MdM centers and units, the highest official recognition of the scientific research granted in Spain, to discuss various relevant themes. At the first meeting in La Palma, the focus was on communication.
