Introduction to the vacant position:
The Nanoscale Bioelectrical Characterization Group is looking for a Senior Researcher to develop, manage and lead the research activities of the group related to the applications of scanning force microscopy to drug nanocarrier production and characterization and to contribute in the management and development of the remaining research activities of the group.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- To lead the development of projects and promote the research line on the applications of scanning probe microscopy to drug nanocarrier development and nanocharacterization.
- To contribute to the research developed in the research group concerning the applications of scanning force microscopy or other nanotechniques in life sciences and medicine
- To contribute to the Laboratory resource monitoring and management.
- To expand the research capacity of the research group and retain technical and scientific knowledge.
- To mentor and supervise doctoral and master students.
- To support the Group Leader in the management of the research group.
- To participate in institutional transversal activities (dissemination, training, workshops, internal / external evaluations).
- To contribute to extend the network of collaborators and the attraction of talented young researchers.
Requirements for candidates:
Essential:
- Doctoral degree on Physics, Biology, Engineering or Nanosciences.
- More than 6 years of research experience at post-doctoral level.
- Degree and Master on any field on Physics, Biology, Engineering or Nanosciences.
- Multidisciplinary qualifications (Physics/Biology, Nanosciences/Biology, Engineering/Biology, etc.)
- Proficiency on Scanning Probe Microscopy (specifically on their use on biosamples will be a plus).
- Experience in the production of drug delivery nanocarriers and their nanocharacterization.
- Experience in the mentoring and supervision of Master or PhD students
- Good quality of the scientific productivity
- Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
- High level of English
Advantageous:
- Experience on additional nanocharacterization techniques for life sciences (electron microscopy, optical microscopy, nanotweezers, etc.).
- Experience on life sciences methods and techniques for in-vitro and in-vivo tests.
- Experience on dissemination and outreach activities
- Mobility actions among different research institutions at national and international level.
- Experience in the collaboration with non-academic institutions (techtransfer activities).

- Full-time, Permanent position (Specific Rate of Replacement for the stabilization of temporary work, requested by the Administration of the Generalitat based on the Law 20/2021, of December 28, and the Administration of the Generalitat based on the Law 31/2022, of December 23, on general State budgets for the year 2023).
